ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NUMBERED 10 Series of 2014
ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY PEACE AND ORDER COUNCIL AND DEFINING ITS FUNCTIONS.
WHEREAS, as mandated by Executive Order No.366 of the Office of the President of the Philippines, Malacaang, Manila dated 05 September 1996, every barangay must create a barangay peace and order council;
NOW THEREFORE, I, VAN OLIVER M. DICANG, Punong Barangay of Lower Quirino Hill, Baguio City, by the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that this Administrative Order shall read as follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created a Barangay Peace and Order Council, which shall be composed of the following:
a) Chairperson: VAN OLIVER M. DICANG, Punong Barangay b) Vice Chairperson: KAG. ARMANDO S. QUEVEDO, Committee on Peace and Order
c) Secretary: CRISTETA L. CRUZ
d) Members: NATY N. PUMIHIC, Barangay Kagawad ANSELMA T. MAYAO, Barangay Kagawad ARMANDO S. QUEVEDO, Barangay Kagawad PETER O. WASING, Barangay Kagawad LEONORA B. AVECILLA, Barangay Kagawad ROSA M. CRISTAL, Barangay Kagawad EDUARDO HERNANDO, Barangay Tanod EDUARDO PIRA, Barangay Tanod MANOLO PINEDA, Barangay Tanod VICENTE GARBO, Barangay Tanod MARIVIC L. ORARA, Barangay Tanod MARIANO ALACYANG, Lupon Member
SECTION 2. BPOC Functions & Obligations The functions and obligations of the BPOC shall be as follows:
1. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of peace and Order programs and projects at the barangay level: 2. Serve as an information gathering mechanism; 3. Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal elements; 4. Identify barangay constituents with strong deviant behavior 5. Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and rapport with the higher levels of the peace and order council and law enforcement units. 6. Formulate plans and recommend such measures which will improve or enhance peace and order and public safety in their Area responsibility;
Page 2 of 2 Administrative Order Numbered 10, Series of 2014 7. Monitor, coordinate and supervise the operation of all community-based anti crime movements within the barangay. 8. Make periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in their respective areas of responsibility and submit report with appropriate recommendations to the higher level Peace and Order Councils;and 9. Perform other function which may be assigned by local peace and order councils.
SECTION 3. All executive issuances and order inconsistent herewith are hereby deemed amended and modified accordingly.
SECTION 4. This order shall take effect immediately upon approval.
