October 20-24 Field Trip On Wednesday, Nov. 5, the 3 rd -5 th grade classes will be traveling to Ft. Toulouse (Wetumpka) to attend Alabama Frontier Days. The cost of the trip is $7 per student ($8 per chaperone). We will leave ECA at 9:00 and will return around 2:00. Students will need to pack a nonperishable snack AND lunch (unless they wish to purchase a snack or lunch at Ft. Toulouse). Ill send home more details and reminders next week. If you would like to chaperone, please let me know. Dont forget to send back the permission slips and field trip money by October 31 st . A brief pause in our Spelling word lists We will begin Spelling List 10 today, but will not be tested on this list until next Wednesday (10/29). Reading Homework Beginning this week, students will be given a Reading homework packet on Monday that will be due on Friday. This includes a very short story and subsequent workbook pages to accompany the story. These worksheets will allow the students extra practice with their reading comprehension skills. As a class we will read the story on Mondays, but the students are required to read it again throughout the week in order to complete the assignments. On Friday, we will reread the story and review their answers. Again, the packet will be sent home on Monday but is not due until FRIDAY. Monday Snack Just a reminder. We eat snack in our room on Mondays. The students must bring a snack from home on Mondays as we are unable to purchase one from the lunchroom.
