Favorite shortcut:
My computer: I will be using an asus for the majority of the work for
this course. My favorite shortcut is and how it saves you time: ctrl-C to
copy and ctrl-V to paste it saves time and makes copying and pasting
things a breeze.
III. Standards & Best Practice
ISTE Standards for Teachers
Effective teachers model and apply the ISTE Standards for Students
(StandardsS) as they design, implement, and assess learning experiences to
engage students and improve learning; enrich professional practice; and
provide positive models for students, colleagues, and the community. All
teachers should meet these standards and performance indicators.
As you review these ISTE-T standards provide an example of at least one
thing you do in your teaching that
a. meets two of the standards and one or more performance indicators
b. one thing you would like to target for improvement.
1. Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity:
a. My example of something I do: Assign projects that allow students to be
creative and individual in their work.
b. Something to improve on: Give students room to explore, dont be so
strict on what they can or cannot do.
2. Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
a. My example of something I do: Have students be familiarized with
online testing/quizzing sites. Also be familiar with sites like quizlet to help
study.
b. Something to improve on: Try and keep all online testing and quizzing in
the classroom to avoid possible cheating, this will require strict time
management to allow
3. Model digital age work and learning
a. My example of something I do: I will create presentations in a modern
and interactive way to engage students
b. Something to improve on: use many different types, I tend to get stuck
on one program I like and am familiar with
4. Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility
a. My example of something I do: By being responsible on what I browse in
class and promoting digital citizenship
b. Something to improve on: Make sure to stay on only academic sites
while in the school building and not getting on social media and by not
posting any inappropriate things that my students may find.

VI. Reflection
Based on the resources in Basics, and your own experience, reflect on how
thoughtful integration of best practice and technology can improve your
instructional practice. Give some details.
Integration of best practices and technology can help to engage every
student and bring the students struggling with concepts up to the same level
as those who can grasp concepts easiy.
Note: If you are taking the 21things4teachers for graduate, SCECH, or other
Professional Development credit there will be additional Capstone
requirements and extended assignments your instructor will tell you about.
