Independent Reading
You are challenged to read 40 books this year! We will go to the library every Monday
for you to choose a book. I also have tons of books you may check out from our classroom
library. You are expected to read 20 minutes everyday outside of my classroom. You will keep a
record of your books. You must bring your library book to class EVERYDAY! At this time- we
will not be using any electronic devices to read in the classroom!
Class DOJO
Classroom DOJO is an online classroom management system that keeps track of
students positive and negative behaviors. You can earn points for things like: participating in
class, making good choices, helping others, and following directions. You can lose points for: not
turning in homework, not bringing correct supplies to class, not following directions, etc. If you
reach a certain number of points, you will be rewarded with a prize. DOJO points will start over
at the beginning of each nine weeks. Each class period will be working together to earn the most
points. The class with the highest DOJO percent at the end of each nine weeks will be rewarded
with a special prize.

You have the number of days you missed to make up your work (ex. If you missed 2 school days,
you get 2 days to make up the assignments).
Missing and No Name Work
If your paper is not in the tray when I go to grade assignments, it is considered missing. I
will notify you that I do not have your paper and you will be given a chance to turn it in,
however points will be taken off.
You must put your first and last name on all papers! If you forget to do this, you will
