Project Brief:

Students are required to design a multimedia promotional video

to promote a club (i.e sports club, academic club, hobby club).
Your promotional video will be based on your storyboard.
Your club may be an existing club, or a hypothetical club i.e.
Knox cooking club which raises money to feed the homeless.
It must also include a minimum of three data types (text,
images, animation video, audio, pivot, linerider, stopmotion,
flipbook.). It also must be appropriate for viewing by a PG
audience. Students are to represent Knox appropriately as their
product remains the property of Knox Grammar School.
Layout of promotional video
Before the promotional video starts- introduce your problem and
how you constructed your video i.e. what media types did you
use, how did you come up with the idea? You may use footage of
yourself, or text/voiceover. (15-30 seconds)
Promotional video:
1. Introduce your club and the problem
2. Highlight your solution(s)
3. Make sure your promotional video has a conclusion- i.e. For
more information head to www.knoxcookingclub.com or email
knoxcookingclub@knox.nsw.edu.au (Video should run for 30
seconds- 3 minutes)
The problem your club is experiencing may include:
-

Member shortages (New club which needs members to

join)
Not enough funding (Not enough funding for resources for
your club- for a computer club, you may need funding for
robots/computers, your club may have a team travelling
overseas and does not have enough funding to send their
members overseas, not enough facilities i.e. Soccer club
may need to update their gym equipment etc, not enough
funding etc)
Funding cuts- School/Parents association has cut the
funding for your club (Club wont exist unless you get
funding i.e. your technology club gets a funding cut- you
may promote your club to parents and students in order to
keep funding the club.)
Growth in members (needing a bigger club house i.e. for
sports clubs, more resources needed)

Remember your target market- i.e. Students/Teachers

Do not plagiarise youtube videos. The promotional video
needs to be your own work.
Your video should address the problem by a solution
which is promoted throughout the video:
i.e A promotional video which encourages student members
from Knox Grammar to join your club i.e.
For a sports club you might promote elite level coaches,
training, facilities, training programs etc.
An academic club- students get to meet guest speakers such as
Authors, motivational speakers (you can hypothetically be
creative here and choose your own ) A computer club may use
the best technology i.e. your club gets to build some of the best
robots, drones etc)
A hobby club- For a cooking club- feeding the homeless, learning
from some of the best chefs in Sydney/Australia- Masterchef
celebs, learning how to cook international cuisines.
These are some ideas for clubs- be as creative as possible and
make up your own club, problems and solutions.
BE ORIGINAL.
You may create your own characters- i.e. animated
characters through drawing, lego, plasticine.
BEST OF LUCK!!!!
