COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is the year of goals reached and high adventure! The purpose of this
course is to build on skills studied in English 9, improving the reading, writing,
speaking, and listening skills of the student and prepare him/her for future
coursework and life, in general. The class will consist of various individual,
small group and class projects.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Act Responsibly
Come to class prepared! There will be NO PASSES once the bell has
rung, with the exception of emergencies.
Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
Complete all assignments on time and to the best of your ability.
Students must speak with me prior to any school-related absence in
order to obtain any assignments or work.
Do not cheat!!
Be Respectful
Raise your hand to share ideas and ask questions.
Listen to the teacher or classmates when they are speaking.
Do not lose or deface classroom materials.
Watch your words! Profanity, racial slurs, derogatory comments,
and/or any other inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
DO NOT:
Horseplay, rough-house, run, climb on furniture, or partake in any other
distracting or disrespectful behavior.
Whine or complain!
Go into cabinets or behind my desk without permission.
Groomno brushing hair, putting on makeup, painting nails, etc.
Sleep. If you sleep, you will stand!
Both the student and parent/guardian must provide a signature in the space
provided. This shows me that the syllabus has been read and understood.
