Cerberus: Instructions For Stage 1
You have only one chance to pick your specialization, so exercise caution while using this page.
4. On submitting the specialization you wish to major in, you will be directed to the bidding site
which looks like this:
5. Clicking on any course displays course details. You can add courses to your list by clicking on the
+ sign next to the respective course.
6. Courses added by you will be displayed in the list to the right of the screen as shown. You will only
be allowed to pick courses from your selected specialization.
7. You can place your bids on each course by changing the bid amount in the textbox next to each
course. Alternatively, you can remove courses by clicking the x button next to the respective
course. The bid points you have remaining will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
8. Once you have placed your bids, click on the Submit button at the top right corner of the screen.
Note: Your bids will not be saved unless you select the submit button. If you simply Logout without
submitting, your bids will not be saved. Once you submit the bids, you are not allowed to change
them in any way.
9. Once you have submitted your bids, Logout of the portal and wait for the subsequent rounds.
Your bids will be evaluated at the end of the round and a temporary allocation of courses will be
done. The allocation is done based on the highest bid points for that course. If two students tie in
terms of bid points, their CGPA is used to break the tie.
10. In subsequent rounds, temporary allotment of courses occurs. It does not imply that you have
received these courses. It is possible that someone who bids higher than you in this round may end
up getting the course, while you dont. You are still allowed to make changes to your bid amounts in
any course you wish. You may even add/delete courses if you so desire.
Note: In subsequent rounds, there is a limit to the number of changes you can make in you courselist (usually 5). Hence make sure that you make changes cautiously.
11. At the end of all rounds, permanent allocation of the courses will be done. This will signify the
end of Stage 1. The permanently allotted courses will be displayed to you as follows:
b) This stage will similarly have rounds at the end of which, temporary allocation of courses will be
done. At the end of the stage, permanent allocation of courses will be done.
