    ME 407 MINOR PROJECT

    Objectives

    To expose the students to the real life situation where he works


    individually or on a team in a project in the field of engineering.
    To enhance students knowledge and enables them to acquire skills like
    collaboration, communication and independent learning, prepares them
    for lifelong learning and the challenges ahead.

    Outcomes

    Apply the knowledge gained through the program into an integrated


    project
    Demonstrate communication effectiveness through oral presentations and
    written reports
    Acquire collaborative skills through working in a team to achieve common
    goals.
    Learn on their own, reflect on their learning and take appropriate actions
    to improve it.

    Programme of Work
    The project will be carried out in 7 th semester. Students, after consultation
    with staff, will be allocated a project from a list prepared by members of staff
    who will then give supervision.
    Students will be required to keep a log book, to record all the activities
    associated with the project. All work must be noted, together with results
    obtained and observations made as the project progresses. The log book
    must be brought to all the review meeting with the guide. It will form the basis
    for the preparation of the project reports.
    The student will be required to give a short oral presentation and submit a
    brief report for 3 reviews.
    At the end of the project, a full report on the work will also be submitted and
    the assessment will be completed with viva voce.
    Deliverables
    The student will be required to submit:
    log book
    2 + no of students copies of final report
    A soft copy of the report to the department and main library
