    Letter of Recommendation for Zachary Barber

    I would like to recommend Zachary as he graduates this spring (2016) from the Elise P.
    Buckingham Charter Magnet High School, a 2013 California Distinguished School. Zachary was
    a student in my Modern World History P as a sophomore where he exceled on any computer
    based instruction by showcasing his proficiency with such programs as Weebly and Office. As a
    California Distinguished High School, our program at Buckingham takes into account the
    complete education of our students. Students must have a high maturity level and a strong
    seriousness of purpose as it requires the student master the content information of each class. To
    Zacharys credit, he achieved this as both an onsite student and as an independent study student in
    our program.
    Along with content curriculum, Elise P. Buckingham has also prepared Zachary for
    success in a post-secondary education by learning and applying these 21 st century skills:

    Critically reading and responding to informational and literary text.


    Communicating ideas in an organized manner
    Analyzing and developing a solution(s) to a problem
    Synthesizing multiple sources of information
    Understanding and implementing instructions
    Utilizing technology to enhance learning or presentation of assignment

    Our program also emphasizes that all students will be responsible citizens and possess a
    solid foundation for life long learning. Zachary has demonstrated this by:

    Attending school daily and arriving punctually


    Being prepared to work individually and collaboratively
    Respecting himself and others
    Demonstrating ethical usage of technology
