On the 28th 30th day of September 2012, the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Bicol Regional Council of Student Units celebrate the 5th Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Regional Assembly hosted by PSME Bicol University Unit at BU-CENG Campus, Legazpi City. The program formally starts at 12:00 pm for registration of the participants from different schools, with a total of 381 participants with their respective instructors and advisers. It was followed by a parade of all participants from BUCENG Campus to BU Main Campus back to BU-CENG Gymnasium, where the opening program was held. Afterwards each participant is grouped with the other schools corresponding to their team colors. This is done so as to improve the camaraderie in all of the mechanical engineering students that participated in the event. After dinner, the entire participants held back to the BUCENG Gymnasium for the induction of BRCSU Officers and participating schools follows by an oath taking ceremonies. Present in the affair were Engr. Liberato S. Virata, PME, the President of the PSME National and Engr. Ranulfo C. Dacir, PME, President of the PSME Albay-Legazpi Chapter. On the second day, it was excellent and inspiring to hear the participation of Engr. Daryll Gamez, 4th place in last September 2010 ME Board Exam, he graduated from BU-CENG Campus as well as from Dra. Elenita L. Tan, head of PRC-Bicol. The two parts seminar conveys to enhance understanding of engineering competencies and how to gain it. After lunch, the first activity is the Brain Mesh Competition where each school has two participating teams. The contest has three categories, EASY, AVERAGE and DIFFICULT. Later on, the participant proceeded in their sitting arrangement and waiting for the formal start of the contest. The contest end at 3:00 pm for the awarding ceremony of the winners, the MPCF- Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation clutched to be the 1st place, 2nd place the SSC-Sorsogon State College and CNSC-Camarines Norte State College grasped the 3rd place. For the participants to unwind and bond to the other schools, Laro ng Lahi was prepared. After the fun and exciting moments, befriending with the other participants, we took our dinner and eventually take rests. For the Search in ME69, red team was crowned to be the winner. And then the Gala Night was done where party begins. On the last day, the last participating activity was the Basketball Competition. The program was formally end at 2:00 pm by giving a closing remark and acknowledgement by Arnold M. Lopez, PSME BRCSU President. An informal gathering after the closure gave the participants the opportunity for a last exchange and farewell.
