convenants to foster a sense of community through serving members and friends of the fellowship during times of need or crisis by coordinating assistance and support. In order to fulfill this mission, we must be made aware of the needs of our members and friends. Please contact Marty Van Wagner at martyvanwagner@yahoo.com / 254.498.7200 or Paige Davis at dpaige@ymail.com / 254.292.9169 to alert the Care Team of anyone in our UUFW family who might benefit from the services the Care Team provides.
May 16, 2013 Friday Work Afternoons at UUFW: Over the past few months several of us have made a pleasant habit of meeting at the fellowship on Friday afternoons to spruce up the house and grounds. We might be transplanting new flowers, weeding garden beds, or organizing a space inside the fellowship, and we always enjoy the company when we come together. Please consider this your invitation to join us when you can to help maintain the space we all enjoy. Wear old work clothes, comfortable shoes, and bring gloves and hand tools if you plan to be in the garden. Fridays from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
If youve taken a look at the calendar on the UUFW website youve likely seen it reliably scheduled every month on a Saturday, its The Vegetarian Potluck. Cheryl reflects on some things theyve done in the past and what you can expect when you come share their table: "In March we had a "theme" for the potluck: vegan and gluten free. In April the "theme" was Greek. Yummy! It's nice to share recipes too. Check out the pictures on the website www.meetup.com/WacoVegetarians-Meetup-Group. By the way, you don't have to be a vegetarian to come to these potlucks and share some wonderful vegetarian meals! And you don't have to be a member of UUFW to come. We've actually attracted some visitors from the greater community because of the Meetup group - YEA!" A healthy diet today recommends that we eat between 6 and 8 servings of fruits and vegetable a day. Why not try the next Potluck and introduce yourself to some new delectable ways to help you meet your nutrition goals. Cheryl also reminds us that we can shop for locally produced fruits and vegetables every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Waco Downtown Farmers Market at 400 South University Parks Drive.
