The Board now resolves to instead construct prayer halls costing up to Rs. 8 lakhs, establish a single window system to oversee construction as well as supply of idols, equipment, and priest training, and provide initial financial support for offerings to help newly trained priests. The Executive Officer will implement these changes pending government approval.

    TTD Board in Resolution No. 501, dated 27-1-2012 has resolved to construct temples with ceiling cost of Rs.10 lakhs in Dalitawadas, Mathyakara Colonies, tribal areas, backward areas and also in the villages where there are no significant temple duly permitting to take up the work by the local villagers. These temples proposed comprises of Garbhalayam with Vimanam and Mukhamandapam etc., as per the principles of temples vastu with main Deity duly conducting Samprokshanam / Kumbhabhishekam. Once Mahasamprokshanam of the temple is conducted, it is compulsory that regular pooja / rituals conforming to Agama principles shall be conducted failing which it may not augur well for the society. But the availability of Archakas who are well versed in performing pooja as per Agama principles are limited. Already proposals are approved for construction of about 282 temples and out of them only 42 are in progress. It was brought to the notice of the TTD Board that it requires availability of skilled silpis to construct the temples and also the future maintenance will prove to be cumbersome and costly. TTD with limited infrastructure will not be able to maintain all these small temples. TTD is also supporting supply of stone idols, panchaloha idols, mikes umbrellas on subsidy basis to various temples. However, since the above items are dealt in different wings in TTD, the public is finding the difficult to procure the same from TTD. There is also need to bring coherence in dealing with the above subjects and it is necessary to establish a single window system so that all the requirements are fulfilled that is construction of temple, supply stone idols, panchaloha idols, mikes, umbrellas and training of Archakas at a time, once the project is taken up. In the light of the above, it is resolved to 1. To construct Bhajana Mandirams in place of temples with a ceiling cost of Rs. 8 lakhs duly following the guidelines resolved in Res. No. 282, dt. 18-7-2011. 2. The temple committee formed for this purpose has to pay the public contribution at or the temple committee may construct the temple on its own upto plinth level. However this may be relaxed wherever necessary by the Executive Officer on case to case basis. 3. To establish single window system for sanctioning of construction of Bhajana Mandirams, supply stone idols, panchaloha idols, mikes, umbrellas and training of Archakas etc. 4. To extend financial support for dhoopa deepa naivedyam in all such temples constructed through this scheme for a period of twelve months to facilitate newly trained Archakas to gain confidence in their newly acquired skills. Details of this will be decided by Executive Officer and bring to Board for information. 5. To implement the scheme, in anticipation of the approval from the Government and to address a letter to the Government for ratification. -
