Dear Eastminster Family, Five opportunities that warrant your attention - and action! 1. Forty Day Focus. Beginning Ash Wednesday (March 5) and throughout Lent, you are encouraged to join in exploring and experiencing the Psalms. The Psalms are a wonderful resource for worship, prayer, and reflection as they express the thoughts of people traveling the dark valleys of doubt while also giving voice to those traversing the majestic mountaintops of faith. Here are three ways you can grow closer to God through the Psalms: a) Read the daily e-mail devotional and associated Psalm, which will begin by Ash Wednesday; b) Worship. Sunday sermons from March 9 - April 13 will focus on various Psalms; c) Join us Monday mornings at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast ($4) and study in Thompson Hall. 2. Also During LentThe Passion of Our Lord - Our four Gospel authors provide a symphonic account of the last days of our Lords life and ministry, in the hours from the Garden of Gethsemane to the death of Jesus Christ upon the cross. Led by Mark Durrett. This seminar has just started, but its not too late to join. (Wed. mornings from 11:00 a.m. -12 noon; repeated Wed. evenings in C-271-273.) 3. New Photo Directory. Its time. Lets do it. You cant remember their name and they cant remember yours! Change that by getting your picture taken for the new Directory. First, go to Eastminsterpres.org; second, click on Whats Happening; third, read the instructions related to the Photo Directory and click as directed to sign up for a day and time. 4. Coach Dan Reeves Speaking at Sportsmans Banquet. Long time NFL head coach and former Gamecock Dan Reeves will speak Thursday, April 3. Come and bring a friend. Dinner is $10; only $5 for age 8 and under. We anticipate a big crowd, so register now to assure a spot. Go to Eastminsterpres.org; click on Whats Happening; scroll down to the Coach Dan Reeves announcement and click as directed to purchase tickets. 5. Youth Sunday this Sunday. Come, worship and hear how God is at work in the lives of our young people. Our Seniors and Juniors will be preaching, with Sophomores and Freshman assisting, and some very special music. See you Sunday,
