11.4 If radio survey measurements are not taken during the Evaluation survey then when will
this information be captured?
It is recommended radio survey measurements are taken during evaluation.
Marc to review
Please quote the Maximum time for response, with clarification questions, to a request
for Evaluation survey?
2 days to respond with clarification questions to request.
Marc to review
Max time for to complete Evaluation survey Marc to review - can the timescales be split for the different technologies?
A cellular only system
WiFi and PMR - similar timeframes to cellular if present
WiFi may not be present in the building - no time
required
PMR may be present as external leakage
A PMR only system,
A WIFi only system
A combined cellular & PMR solution
A combined cellular, PMR & WIFI solution
How are the results of the Evaluation survey presented? Please provide examples as
attachments.
These are presented on the previously provided Arqiva template. Please expand the picture to see the details.

Marc to review
Examples should include cellular, PMR & WIFI solutions where possible.

called SC_WiFi
How are the results of the Evaluation survey analysed & technical recommendations
advised?
The evaluation requirements as per JOTS 4413 and Arqiva process BOP435 do not require technical
recommendations and analysis of the gathered data. However, this is a service that Vilicom frequently
provides and could discuss this requirement further.
The radio engineer analyses the files during processing visually and summarises the results in a concise
categorised table format. The engineer can give recommendations of issues seen in log file processing such
as poor dominance, dropped calls and failed handovers.
The engineer assesses the potential location for antennas from floorplans and survey photos to detrtmine and
estimated number of antennas and cable lengths that will be required for the DAS. These figures are used
drive the budget costs.
Vilicom recommends to include the following within an evaluation survey report:
-Summary table of coverage (good, marginal, poor)this can be visually assessed using the plotted data or
a calculated using the log file data
-Recommended Distributed antenna infrastructure and estimated implementation costs
-Existing WiFi access points detected and signal strength
-Existing PMR frequencies detected and signal strengths
Marc to review
Please provide examples as attachments. Template that Vilicom uses to provide the Evaluation survey report.
Marc
How are budgetary costs for the provision of coverage improvement derived from the
results of the Evaluation survey?
The budgetary costs for the implementation of a DAS are derived from an estimation of cable lengths, antenna
numbers and plant requirements and past experience of deployed systems in similar environments.
Marc to review
Please provide examples as attachments. See Template Evaluation Report in 11.7

Note: A specific process and checklist has been previously created specific to this work to ensure all required
information is gathered whilst on site and test carried out to specification.
An engineer/surveyor will set up the test equipment following Vilicom procedures
The engineer/surveyor will then walk the areas within the coverage scope gathering the required data to
ensure a design can comply with JOTS 4413
Vilicom engineers have at their disposition the use of the following in house equipment and software:
- TEMS investigation
- Swissqual Diversity
- Ascom Qvoice
- Rohde & Schwarz EB200 miniport receiver,
- Rohde & Schwarz FSH6 and FSH18 spectrum analysers

- Low and High power PTSystems and Labbrick CWsignal generators (900Mhz, 1800Mhz, 2200Mhz)
- Anritsu Site Master
- Narda Emission Monitoring meters and probes
- Vilitrace Measurement Mapping Software (Developed by Vilicom, this can be used for PMR surveys)
- iBwave In-building Design and Propagation Software
- Selection of engineering Handsets
- DEW- Multi-operator High speed data performance testing system (Developed by Vilicom)
1 to 3 days will be required on site depending on the size of the building to complete the survey.
This may increase in the event of multiple buildings or "business parks" etc, where the buildings are of very
different types.
The report will be delivered no later than 15 days from date of instruction. If quicker delivery is required this
could be discussed and achieved.
