HISTORY ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Bharti Airtel, incorporated on July 7, 1995 is the flagship company of Bharti Enterprises. The
Bharti Group, has a d iverse business portfolio and has created global brands in the telecommunication
sector. Bharti Airtel, is Asias leading integrated telecom services provider with operations in India and Sri
Lanka. Bharti Airtel has been at the forefront of the telecom revolution and has transformed the sector
with its worldclass services built on leading edge technologies.

Bharti Enterprises is one of Indias leading business groups with interests in telecom, retail,
manufacturing, agriculture ,business and financial services. Bharti has recently forayed into retail
business as Bharti Retail Pvt. Ltd. under a MoU with WalMart for the cash & carry business. It has
successfully launched an international venture with EL Rothschild Group to export fresh agri products
exclusively to markets in Europe and USA and has launched Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company Ltd
under a joint venture with AXA, world leader in financial protection and wealth management.
Bharti Airtel is Indias largest integrated and the first private telecom services provider with a footprint in
all the 23 telecom circles. Bharti Airtel since its inception has been at the forefront of technology and has
steered the course of the telecom sector in the country with its world class products and services.

The businesses at Bharti Airtel have been structured into three individual strategic business units
(SBUs) Mobile Services, Airtel Telemedia Services & Enterprise Services. The mobile business
provides mobile & fixed wireless services using GSM technology across 23 telecom circles while the Airtel
Telemedia Services business offers broadband & telephone services in 95 cities and has recently
launched India's best DirecttoHome (DTH) service, Airtel digital TV. The Enterprise services provide
endtoend telecom solutions to corporate customers and national & international long distance services
to carriers. All these services are provided under the Airtel brand. Airtel's highspeed optic fibre network
currently spans over 90,205 kms covering all the major cities in the country.
The company has two international landing stations in Chennai that connects two submarine cable
systems i2i to Singapore and SEAMEWE4 to Europe.

Bharti Airtel (Singapore) Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary was incorporated on 2nd
April, 2007 and will obtain a license to enable interconnecting the i2i cable with other submarine cable
systems landing in Singapore to provide increased onward connectivity to US West Coast and also to
cater to connectivity requirements in Asia Pacific and for carrying the business of International Calling
Card Services.

ACHIEVEMENTS/ RECOGNITION:

Bharti Airtel Shared Services Team won two awards in categories of Value Creation and Innovation
& Improvement at the SSON (Shared Services & Outsourcing Network) Excellence Awards 2012.

Bharti Airtel won four Effie awards at the Effie Awards 2012. Airtel's extremely popular 'Har ek friend
zaroori hota hai' campaignconceptualized by Taproot India, stood out as a campaign amongst all
nominations, winning three Gold Effie awards. Apart from a Gold in the'Telecom & Related
Services' category, the campaign won a Gold each in 'Digital Advertising' and 'Integrated Advertising'.
Bharti Airtel also won one Silver Effie award for its 'Baat sirf paison ki nahin hai' campaign for airtel
moneyin the telecom category.

Sanjay Kapoor was awarded the "Telecom Person of the year 2012" at the "Voice & Data Telecom
Leadership Awards 2012". The award was accorded by Honourable Minister of New and Renewable
Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah.

Bharti Airtel won the QuEST Forum India Quality Award for the Top Telecom Service Provider. QuEST
Forum is a unique collaboration of information and communication technologies (ICT) service
providers and suppliers across the world, dedicated to improving operational and supply chain
quality and performance.

Bharti Airtel was awarded the #1 Service brand in Brand Equity's List of "Most Trusted Brands".

Bharti Airtel was felicitated for 'Best Mobile Service Provider' and 'Innovation in mMoney' at Aegis
Graham Bell Awards held on November 1, 2012.
The Aegis Graham Bell awards honor the best innovations in the field of TIME (Telecom, Internet,
Media & Edutainment) recognizing the most exceptional contributions in the respective fields.

Bharti Airtel was awarded the 'Brand of the Year' at the CNBC TV18's flagship initiative, the India
Business Leader Awards (IBLA) for itsHar Ek Friend Zaroori Hota Hai campaign. The IBLA Brand Of
The Year Award seeks to recognize a brand mass media/ communication campaign based on its
key message, popularity amongst the target audience and impact on the brand.

Bharti Airtel won the 'Excellence in First People Initiative' award at the first, People 2012
Awards. Airtel HR's multiple initiatives in enhancing the internal customer's experience through
innovation and leveraging mobile technology helped us to win the prestigious award.

The Airtel Centre of Excellence (ACE) received the 'Excellence Award for Shared Service Centre
Operations in India' in the 2nd National Shared Services Council by All India Management
Association and Delhi Management Association in recognition of their outstanding efforts to
identify key strategic drivers and implementing them to deliver value to all stakeholders.

Bharti Airtel won the highly prestigious Porter Prize in the 'Exploiting Trade-offs' category. The
Porter Prize Awards, named after Professor Michael Porter the father of modern strategic field,
are the most coveted awards in the field of strategy and competitiveness. The award recognises
and honours Indian companies which have embraced the best strategic management practices.

Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka bagged a silver at the prestigious HRM awards. Airtel Sri Lanka was
recognized for their HR practices by HRM awards.

Bharti Airtel won the Star News Viewers Choice Best Mobile Network, Best Quality Mobile Network
Service Provider, at the 6th National Telecom Awards 2012 hosted by CMAI in May 2012

Bharti Airtel won 5 awards at the Telecom Operator Awards 2012, announced in March 2012 by
Tele.net . Airtel bagged the 'Best National Mobile Operator', 'Best VAS Provider', 'Best Enterprise

Sunil Mittal was (born 23 October 1957) in Punjabi Aggarwal Family. His father, Sat Paul
Mittal, had been the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha (Indian National Congress) from Punjab,
he was elected from Punjab for two terms (1976 & 1982) and nominated to the Rajya Sabha once
(1988). He first joined the Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie, but later attended Scindia School at
Gwalior and he graduated in 1976 from Panjab University, Chandigarh, with a Bachelor of Arts and
Science for which he studied in Arya College, Ludhiana. His father died of cardiac arrest in 1992.
Sunil Bharti Mittal's father (Mr. Sat Pal Maittal) was an M.P. Sunil did not followed his
father's footsteps. After graduating from Punjab University in 1970s, he set up a small bicycle
business in Ludhiana in partnership with his friend. A first generation entrepreneur, Mittal started
his first business in April 1976 at the age of 18, with a capital investment of 20000 borrowed from
his father. His first business was to make crankshafts for local bicycle manufacturers.
In 1980, he along with his brothers Rakesh, Rajan started an Import Enterprise named
Bharti Overseas Trading Company. He sold his bicycle parts and yarn factories and moved to
Mumbai.By 1979, Sunil Mittal realized that his ambitions could not be fulfilled in Ludhiana, so he
moved out to Mumbai from Ludhiana.
--> He spent a few years in Mumbai and in 1982, Sunil Mittal started a full-fledged business selling
portable generators imported from Japan. This gave him a chance to acquaint himself with the
nitty-gritty's of marketing and advertising. His business was running smoothly but later on the
government banned the import of generators as two Indian companies were awarded licenses to
manufacture generators locally.
--> In 1986, Sunil Bharti Mittal incorporated Bharti Telecom Limited (BTL) and entered into a
technical tie up with Siemens AG of Germany for manufacture of electronic push button phones.
Gradually he expanded his business and by early 1990s, Sunil Mittal was making fax machines,
cordless phones and other telecom gear.
--> In 1992, when the Indian government was awarding licenses for mobile phone services for the
first time, Sunil Mittal clinched Delhi cellular license in collaboration with French telecom group
Vivendi. In 1995, Sunil Mittal founded Bharti Cellular Limited (BCL) to offer cellular services under
the brand name AirTel.
At present ,Sunil Bharti Mittal is an Indian entrepreneur, philanthropist and the founder, chairman
and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises, which has interests in telecom, retail, financial services,
and agri business.
Rajan Bharti Mittal is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Enterprises.[1] He has
been aapointed as president of International Chambers of Commerce (ICC), India.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal is the Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises.Rakesh is the Chairman of Bharti
AXA Life Insurance, Bharti AXA General Insurance, FieldFresh Foods and Centum Learning. He is
also on the Boards of Bharti Telecom, Bharti Ventures and other group companies.Rakesh is a
member of the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) since 1999 and is
currently the Chairman of CII Development Initiative Council (DIC).

Bharti Airtel
Bharti Airtel Ltd is the third largest mobile operator in the world, in terms of subscriber base,
and has a presence in 20 countries. The company is Indias largest integrated telecom company in terms
of customer base and offers mobile, fixed line, broadband, IPTV, DTH and enterprise services.
Bharti Infratel
Bharti Infratel deploys and manages telecom towers and communication structure for
various wireless operators. The company has pioneered the GreenTowers P7 initiative for the
betterment of the environment. In India, Bharti Infratel owns 33,446 towers across 11 circles. It will spend
1,086 crore to set up 4,813 new towers and upgrade its existing ones by financial year 2016. Bharti
Infratel also has a 42% stake in Indus towers which was created as a Joint Venture between Bharti
Infratel, Vodafone and Idea & owns more than 100,000 towers across 15 circles.
Bharti Retail
Bharti Retail is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises. Bharti Retail operates a chain of
multiple format stores. The companys neighborhood format stores operate under the Easy day brand
and the compact hypermarket format under the 'Easy day market' brand. Recently the company has
become more involved in the food economic sectors, with a joint partnership in the agricultural company
FieldFresh.
Bharti TeleTech
Bharti Teletech is Indias leading telecom & allied products company. It is one of the largest
manufacturers of land line telephones in the world. With a strong distribution network across the
country, the company is also the primary distributor of IT and Telecom products from international brands
such as Motorola, Blackberry, Thomson, Polycom, Transcend, and Logitech.
FieldFresh Foods
FieldFresh Foods is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and DMPL India Ltd. (a subsidiary
of Del Monte Pacific Ltd.). The company offers fresh fruits & vegetables and processed foods &
beverages in the domestic as well as international markets.
Bharti AXA General Insurance and Life Insurance
Bharti AXA is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and AXA, world leader in financial
protection and wealth management. They offer a range of life insurance and wealth management
products.
Centum Learning
Centum (formerly Bharti Learning Systems Limited), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti
Enterprises, is a learning and development organisation that specializes in the customer experience
arena.
Bharti Foundation
Bharti Foundation was set up in 2000. It aims to create and support programs that bring about
sustainable changes through education and the use of technology and information.
Bharti Realty
Bharti Realty is the in-house Real Estate arm for Bharti Group and facilitates by extending
