Land Pride welcomes you to the growing family of new
product owners.
This sawhas been designed with care and built by skilled
workers using quality materials. Proper assembly,
maintenance, and safe operating practices will help you
get years of satisfactory use from this saw.
Application
The TreeLiminator is a skid steer mounted 6 pie shaped
blade with saw teeth on each side. As you drive the skid
steer forward, the cutting teeth are forced into the trunk
of the tree. The TreeLiminator is ideal for clearing
pastures or unwanted trees in a fraction of the time
needed with a chain saw, and less costly than a dozer.
While other tree saws on the market utilize hydraulic
cylinders and other moving parts, our tree saws only
moving part is a Power Jaw that acts as a one armed
grapple to help grab trunks and piles of limbs. Easily saw
trees along the fence row, and reach over the fence to
remove them with the Power Jaw. See Features and
Benefits, Section 6 for additional information.

Transporting the Skid Steer Loader
and TreeLiminator
1. Always drive up the loading ramp with the heavy end
uphill.
2. Once loaded, lower the saw to the floor, engage the
parking brake, place shift lever into low gear or park
if available, shut engine off and remove switch key.
3. Secure loader and attachments using tie-downs and
chains capable of withstanding forces exerted on
themwhile driving down the road. Use towing vehicle
and trailer of adequate capacity.
Operating Checklist
1. Be sure all bolts and nuts are tight.
2. Be certain all guards and shields are in place and
secure.
!
WARNING
Extreme caution must be observed when removing trees that
are near or could come into contact with high voltage power
lines or fatality or serious injury may occur!
!
WARNING
Do not operate the saw without the Tree Guard in place.
!
CAUTION
A hard hat, safety glasses and work gloves should be worn at
all times!
!
CAUTION
Always be aware of people, livestock, well heads, gas mains or
other potential ground hazards in your immediate work area!
!
CAUTION
Do not attempt to remove trees that exceed 30 in diameter!
!
CAUTION
When transporting trees in the power jaw, keep load balanced
and as low to the ground as possible!
!
CAUTION
Keep bystanders at least 20 feet away when operating!
!
CAUTION
Always adhere to all Skid Steer manufacturers operating and
safety instructions!
Operating Instructions
!
WARNING
Cutting a tree with a cut that is horizontal to the ground is
more difficult to control than one cut by hand. Be aware of
which way the cut tree is going to fall. If a tree starts to fall
towards you, the shortest path out of the way is to pivot 90
degrees away from the tree and to the side.
!
WARNING
The falling trees path can change due to branches deflecting
off of surrounding trees and/or by rolling, once the branches
come in contact with the ground.
!
WARNING
Be alert for falling branches.
Start skid steer loader with steering levers and hydraulic
controls in neutral.
Move steering lever controls smoothly. Hydrostatic drive
systems are responsive and the loader will move
immediately when controls are activated. Do not pull
back suddenly on the steering lever controls to stop the
loader.
The operator must be proficient in operating the skid
steer loader before he can achieve the expertise needed
to get the full benefit and efficiency out of operating the
TreeLiminator. Thoroughly familiarize yourself with the
operation of the skid steer loader.
Practice maneuvering the TreeLiminator attached to the
skid steer loader in an open area. Raise it high in the air
and tilt it up and down. Practice lowering the
TreeLiminator from high in the air to the ground while
keeping it level. Once you are comfortable operating the
skid steer loader with the TreeLiminator attached, you
are ready to saw a tree down.
Position the saw blade point on the side of the tree you
want to cut on. The fact that the saw gets wider as you
drive forward forcing the saw to enter the tree may be
enough to initiate a sawing action. If this is not the case,
force the saw teeth into the tree by slightly steering
towards the tree.
The sawing action is done as you drive forward. After
each forward pass, reverse, reposition if needed, and
drive forward again. Keep repeating this procedure until
the tree is completely cut through. Some trees may be
easier to cut by going at it from both sides.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT drop the saw. The saw
should be lower slowly to the ground and it must be
level from front to rear and side to side for proper
performance.

!
WARNING
When cutting a large tree, or one where safety is in question,
it is recommended that a cut be made through the tree to the
point of the tree feeling loose. At this point in the cut, raise the
TreeLiminator high enough on the tree to push it in the
direction you want it to fall. The tree likely will fall over,
splintering at the base. The remaining stump can then be cut
off at ground level.
After sawing the first couple of trees, stop and check to
see that the saw is adjusted properly.
Activate the hydraulic power jaw with the skid steer
hydraulic control. The power jaw can be used to carry or
drag large trees or piles of limbs to a central pile.

area (shown about 1/2 long). Grind material to achieve a
sharp front edge on the tooth.
Short close spaced teeth situated between the two larger
teeth are for depth cutting. Sharpening these teeth by
holding the grinder flat to the back of tooth and grinding
to a point. Do not grind the front side of the tooth.
Storage
It is good practice to clean off all dirt and grease that may
have accumulated on any moving parts at the end of a
working season and if the saw is not going to be used for
several days. Also, apply a filmof oil along the full length
of both cutting edges to prevent rusting.
Check the saw blade and power jaw gripper for wear and
replace if necessary.
Inspect the saw for loose, damaged or worn parts and
adjust or replace if needed.
Lubricate as noted in Lubrication Points on page 11.
Apply a light coat of grease to any exposed hydraulic
cylinder rod.
Repaint parts where paint is worn or scratched to prevent
rust.
Store saw in a clean, dry place.
Maintenance
!
CAUTION
BEFORE any maintenance is performed, lower the saw to the
ground, stop skid steer engine and remove key. DO NOT
attempt to make maintenance adjustments while skid steer is
running.
Proper servicing and adjustment is the key to the long life
of any implement. With careful and systematic
inspection, you can avoid costly maintenance, time and
repair.
Saw Blade Sharpening
Refer to Figure 3-1:
!
CAUTION
ALWAYS wear eye protection and gloves when sharpening the
blade.
The best sharpening method is achieved by using a 4 or
4 1/2 hand held grinder. The teeth on the saw blade are
shaped to have a relief angle for exposing the front point
for cutting. The flat 1/2 area on the tooth profile is all that
is necessary to grind. Place grinder wheel flat on this
