The Lost Canvas anime adaptation of the manga has been released. It tells the story of Tenma and Alone, orphaned friends in 18th century Italy who become a Bronze Saint and the host of Hades, respectively. The anime was produced with high quality, faithfully adapting the original manga's artwork and telling the story more rhythmically than the manga. It was produced by the same studio that did D.Gray-Man, and features many staff from that show as well as one writer from the original 1986 Saint Seiya anime. Early reviews praised its lively adaptation of the manga's world and overall superior production quality.

Anime is Finally Here! Kept True to Its Original The anime version of the manga created by Shiori Teshirogi, well-known for her high quality artwork, has been released on June 24 th . Here is the story outline for those who do not know The Lost Canvas original manga (published by Kurokawa in France): Depicted are the Holy War between Hades and Athena and other related adventures that take place in the 18 th century. Tenma, a tough, hot-blooded young man with a strong sense of justice, and Alone, a kind and gentle young man, are best friends, living in an orphanage in a small town in Italy. Tenma, led by Dohko, the Libra Gold Saint, is fated to become the Pegasus Bronze Saint, while Alone is unfortunately chosen by Hades to become the body for Hades to reincarnate and awaken into. Adding to this tragedy, another best friend to these two young men, Sasha, is later disclosed to be the Goddess Athena. The first two episodes show Tenma experiencing the Cosmo and training at the Sanctuary, while on the Hades side, the first of the Specters appear.
Powerful Anime Successfully Produced The Lost Canvas manga is the first to be released with a higher quality artwork than the rest of the Saint Seiya manga series. As an anime title, this is the first ever authentic anime. Gone is the repeated traveling on a still background as can be seen in the last series of Hades OVA, and in its stead a much effective dynamism can be felt. A high quality production is delivered at the opening of this new series. Shiori Teshirogis beautiful original artwork is rendered truthfully, and the heightened sensibility is maintained as well (although there are still left some minimizations that cannot be avoided in the anime production process). The story is more rhythmically told in the anime version than in the manga version, and thus there is not a second to be bored. This is the best work out of all the Saint Seiya series.
New Saints (Staff Introduction) This title is produced by TMS Entertainment, the same people who has already successfully produced a high quality anime called D. Gray-Man. Starting with Director Osamu Nabeshima, many staff that worked on D. Gray-Man are now working on this title, including Yoshiyuki Suga, a writer, the only one who has also worked on the 1986 Saint Seiya project. Currently, this new team is producing an excellent result. Although the character design genius, Shingo Araki, is not in the team, the original authors talent is very well making up for it. It is difficult to evaluate at this point the very important component of any series, namely music, but it can be said that it is going well for now, led by Kaoru Wada who has already proven his talent in such titles as Inuyasha and Ninja Scroll. We will just have to wait and see if he will be able to attain the level of achievement Seiji Yokoyama had delivered in one climactic scene from the previous Saint Seiya series.
