As we begin to draft our new classes for 2015, there are several factors that will be carefully
considered. In each new class, teachers will aim to ensure that there is a balance of academic
capabilities, social competencies, behavioural traits & special needs, and that the classes at each level
have an almost identical profile.
As you can appreciate this is a very complex undertaking, especially in light of our total school
enrolment edging towards 240 students in 2015.
To this end, please be assured that all of these factors are carefully considered. Like you, we want to
ensure that we establish the best learning opportunities for all of our students in 2015. Given the
rigour in this process, we ask that parents refrain from requesting friendship groupings and teacher
preferences, unless there are extenuating circumstances that we may not be aware of which may
potentially impact on a childs placement. Please take a few minutes to have a chat with your childs
teacher if you have any concerns on this matter.
2015 PREP PARENT INFORMATION EVENING
We are looking forward to our Prep Parent Information Afternoon next Tuesday 27th November
from 2:00pm in the Pelican Learning Centre. Speakers will provide an engaging presentation on
how parents can establish a seamless transition to school for new prep students. All families will
receive an information pack, with all of the important dates and information needed for 2015.
There will also be a chance for parents to ask any questions about their childs transition to
school.
We hope all of our new and existing families with 2015 prep students will be able to attend the
presentation.
The Annual General Meeting for the Tootgarook Primary School Co-Op will be held at
6pm on Monday 15th December at a venue to be determined at a later date.

Today our Prep class went to see Laurie. First Laurie came into our classroom and
he told us how to be safe on the road. Then we practised. Last we said goodbye
and we went back to school. Then we did some writing about the learning we did. I
liked it very much.
