2. Prices
All prices are defined as net prices ex works exclusive costs of cargo and packaging as well
as turnover taxes. The prices valid on the day of delivery are always invoiced. Especially for
customised items and deliveries which are made after 4 months after the conclusion of the
contract, we are entitled to adjust prices due to changes in raw material costs, labour and
material costs and / or overheads.

1. General
Our supplies, services and offers take place exclusively on the basis of these Terms and
Conditions. These shall also apply to all future business relationships, even if they are not
explicitly agreed again. Deviating terms and conditions of the customer only apply insofar
as we have specifically agreed to them. In this case, the burden of proof is on the customer.
These Terms and Conditions are considered to be accepted at the latest upon receipt of the
goods or the performance of services. We herby contradict any and all adverse confirma
ions of customers referring to their terms and conditions and/or conditions of purchase.

3. Shipment
Shipment takes place from the distribution center in Genthin/Germany. We chose the most
favorable means of transportation and routes. If the buyer has certain requirements the
resulting costs are billed separately. The risk passes to the customer, as soon as the delivery
has been handed over to the transportation or has left our distribution center. In the event
that the delivery is delayed upon the customers request, the risk shall pass to the customer
when the notice is given that the goods are ready for delivery.
We do not accept liability for loss or damage. Delivery times are defined by us in such a
manner that they can be kept within the framework of an orderly course of business.
Force majeure such as war, labor disputes, operational disruptions, disruptions during the
transport or delays of our suppliers or other events for which we are not responsible, allow
us to delay the delivery deadline by the duration of the disruption. Should we cause a delay
of delivery, the buyer is entitled to fix a suitable deadline under the penalty of rejection
with
a minimum of two weeks. After its expiration the buyer is entitled to cancel the contract in
written form. The buyer is entitled to compensation due to non-fulfillment only if the delay
is caused intentionally or by recklessness. The buyer is entitled to compensation due to
non-fulfillment only if the delay is caused intentionally or by recklessness and if it has been
separately agreed in written beforehand. Furthermore, the liability for compensation is
limited to the delivery value. Further compensation caused by intention or recklessness of
the supplier remains unaffected by this.
4. Repurchase
Orderly delivered merchandise can only be repurchased with our previous written consent.
For credits for undamaged goods we deduct 15% of the net invoice amount for administration costs, control and new packaging. There will be no credit for damaged merchandise
or merchandise with a net invoice amount of less than 50,00 Euro. Custom-made products
can not be repurchased.
5. Special versions
Special versions are only accepted if all technical details have been agreed upon and if
there
is an implementation drawing signed by the customer. The stated delivery period begins to
run from the received order, from the time that all relevant documents are complete and
have been received by the supplier. After the production has commenced a cancellation of
the order is no longer possible.
6. Exports
Some foreign representatives or trade partners enjoy a local protection secured by contract. Therefore, our products may only be exported with our written consent.
7. Terms of payment
Our invoices have to be settled within 10 days with 2% early payment discount or within
30 days strictly net. Early payment discount is only valid for the net value of the merchandise, not for freight and packaging. The buyer is not entitled to hold back payment, unless
notices of defects have arisen with obvious justification.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Payment terms are thirty (30) days. Unless otherwise
agreed in writing payment has to be secured by an irrevocable letter of credit or a bank
guarantee acceptable to TCS AG . Where payment is made by letter of credit, all costs of
collection shall be for Buyers account. Cash discount is only granted on the net value of
the
merchandise, not on transportation and packaging. The buyer is not entitled to hold back
the payment provided there is no notification of defects that are evident. A counterbalance
of the buyer is only allowed if there are indisputable and legal counter demands. If the
buyer does not keep deadlines of payments or circumstances are learned that lower the
buyers credit rating, we reserve to deliver only with cash in advance or cash on delivery or
demand securities. We reserve to deliver only with cash advance or cash on delivery or
demand securities, where appropriate, we will stop the supply.
8. Warranty
There are no warranty claims possible in case of only insignificant flaws. If our delivery and
performance is imperfect and the buyer therefore complains according to 377 HGB (German code of commercial law) in time and in written form we will supply or repair at our
choice. We must be granted an appropriate period of at least 10 work days if the defect
appears during the limitation period if the defect existed already at the point of risk transfer. If the supplementary performance is unsuccessful the buyer is entitled to lower the
compensation or to withdraw from the contract. However, the withdrawal is only possible
if the buyer has previously announced this to us in expressed written form with another
period of grant. The period of warranty is 24 months. The buyer is entitled to recourse
against us according to 438 BGB (German Civil Law) only insofar as the buyer has not
reached an agreement with his customer exceeding the legal fault claims. The buyer is
entitled to demand compensation for the expenses required for touch provided the expenses
do not increase because the object of the delivery has been moved to a location different
from the original place of delivery, provided the transfer is in accordance with its intended
use.
DIN/VDE 0100 is to be observed for our technologically high-quality merchandise. The
merchandise is to be hooked up and installed only by an electrician.
8.1 Simplified Processing
We offer a simplified processing of warranty cases to the electrician as follows:
There is a limitation period for warranty claims due to faulty products of two years
starting with the proven installation at the final customer, however, at least three years
after the production date.
If the complaint due to faulty products is made within the said periods the manufacturer
waives the proof of the initial fault.
The manufacturer waives the proof that the final customer is a private consumer.
In the case of complaints due to faulty products the manufacturer delivers replacement
free of charge within short period. It is the responsibility of the electrician to send the
damaged product back to us beforehand or after the exchange is made.
On the other hand, the electrician waives the compensation of all further costs of
replacement or repairing of faulty products. He has to carry these costs himself.
9. Claims for damages
We accept claims for damages and expenditure of the buyer (claims of damages), regardless of the legal argument, particularly due to neglecting the obligations of the debenture
and prohibited action, only as far as our legal representatives or our vicars have acted intentionally or recklessly, or if the neglected obligation is of significance for reaching the
contract purpose.
In case of slightly reckless neglect of our contract obligations our compensation is limited
to damage typical for the contract and foreseeable. Compensation is at most twice the
invoiced value of the products concerned.
The exclusion of liability and limited liability does not apply as far as we are conclusively
accountable for injuring life, body or health or for damages on privately used items according to the law on product liability or because of other reasons.
10. Extended retention
The objects of the delivery (retention merchandise) remain the property of the supplier
until all rights entitled towards the buyer according to the contract have been fulfilled. As
long as the value of the security interest that the supplier is entitled to, does exceed the
amount of all secured claims by more than 20%, the supplier will release the according part
of the security interests if the buyer requests. As far as there are retentions the buyer is not
permitted to mortgage or to transfer securities. The resale is only permitted to resellers in
the usual course of business and under the condition that the reseller is paid by his customer and that he sets the precondition that the ownership is transferred the customer
only when he has met his payment obligation.
In case of seizure, sequestration, or other action or incursion of third parties, the buyer
must inform us immediately.
In case of breach of duty of the buyer, particularly default of payment we are entitled to
withdraw from the contract and to retract after an appropriate period has expired unsuccessfully. The legal regulations about the dispensability of setting a deadline remain untouched. The buyer is obliged to hand over the merchandise.
11. Concluding regulations
The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply to these business relationships and
any and all legal relationships between the customer and us. The provisions of the UN
Purchase Law shall not apply.
Insofar as the customer is a businessperson, a legal person, a public law entity or a special
fund under pubic law, our commercial residence (Stendal) shall be the exclusive jurisdiction
for any and all disputes arising directly or indirectly from this contractual relationship.
In the event that any provision of these Terms and Conditions or a provision within other
agreements is or becomes invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the other provisions or
agreements.

10.1 Glossary

1.1 Introduction
2.1 Technology
The BUS technology is a system for data transfer between control components.
By connecting BUS devices, the system provides functions, processes and their
combination. BUS devices are sensors (command transmitter) and actuators (command
receiver).

Principle: All TCS:BUS devices are connected over one medium, a twisted two-wire
copper line. With this line, signals for switching, controlling, regulating and monitoring
are exchanged.
The logical connection of the system components is realised with data protocols on the
TCS:BUS (wires a/b) instead of single wiring (1+n).
Installation advantages:
minimum wiring effort with conventional conductor material
simple types of systems with a centralised voltage supply
systems in the most simple form, consisting of only three components
functional mixed systems
2.2 Wiring
TCS audio system
Concerning in audio technique, the wire pair a/b does stand for voice transmission,
switch and detection protocols as well as voltage supply. The P-wire (optionally) realises
an additional voltage supply.
This simple 2-wire technique is used in systems with one front-door station. The 3-wire
technique is needed for larger systems with several front-door stations and a large
number of indoor stations.

TCS:BUS protocols
The following illustration shows the principle of the TCS:BUS communication: Sensors
send TCS:BUS protocols, e.g. a door call to a front-door station (1).
Actuators react on sent TCS:BUS protocols, e.g. establishing a voice connection (2).

The structure of the data block is clearly defined. Thus all TCS:BUS devices can record
and process data. The identical data protocols provide flexibility and extensibility for the
applications.
Advantages of the TCS technology
The TCS:BUS connects all TCS:BUS devices. All system components have
a unique and invariable serial number.
The voltage supply of the systems is realised centrally by a power supply and
control unit.
TCS:BUS systems consist of only three components in their most simple form:
A front-door station, an indoor station and a power supply and control unit.
2.3 Lines
Cable routing
The cable routing is defined by structural conditions and is only limited by its length.
We recommend to guide the TCS:BUS from device to device. The line is connected
at the connection terminals of each device. You can use already existing lines as
TCS:BUS lines.
Type of lines
As cable material, the following telecommunication lines can be used:
telecommunication installation line, e.g. J-Y(St)Y
data cable, e.g. CAT7

The configuration software configo can be used for location-independent commissioning and maintenance of TCS:BUS systems. With configo the indoor stations can
be allocated to the bell buttons simply by mouse click. Configo can also be used for
existing systems e.g. to read-out the serial numbers of all devices within the system,
thus provising easier maintenance. For the data transfer from PC into a
TCS system, the maintenance interface of the maintenance package is necessary.

Possible cause
The transmission level can be readjusted at many components of the video BUS (e.g.
FVY). Please check it in the product information of the active transmission components..
The camera module of the video front-door stations are insensitive against light. Please
ensure a sufficient illumination or use external cameras.
Turn down the color saturation control at the video front-door station.
Turn down the level of the video BUS (e.g. rotary switch at the board of the camera). Is
only working, if the matching resistor at the station or active extended function (e.g. FVY)
is set correctly.
Please plug the matching resistor in the last device on the video lined.
The connection lines of a surface-mounted camera were extended incorrectly.
The line length between two active video components was impermissibly exceeded.
Possible cause
Shortly press the Run/Prog button at the power supply and control unit.

Chapter 10 Annex
10.1 Glossary
Acknowledgement tone
Acoustic signal at the indoor/front-door station when programming the device. Negative acknowledgement tone: command could not be
excecuted. Positive acknowledgement tone: command was excecuted.
Full-duplex operation
When in full-duplex operation (duplex communication), information is transmitted in both directions at the same time. Thus both communication participants can simultaneously listen and speak.
Actuators
Actuators receive data protocols and convert the data into operations such as e.g. switching, dimming, blind control and radiator valve
signals.
Functional diagram
A functional diagram is an abstracted schematic of a TCS door communication system in different application environments. As a tool for
the installer, it shows possible system constellations with different functionalities as well as power supply and control units.
AS-address | AS-lock
Half-duplex operation
Manual switching of the speech direction between two devices (simplex communication). The speech direction is controlled by the indoor
station.
The audio privacy function prevents listening-in to the voice communication between an indoor station and a front-door station
Hands-free talking
Automatic switching of the speech direction between two devices. The signal which is the loudest is transmitted to the other device. Also
see: half-duplex operation, full-duplex operation.
Idle condition
A power supply is in idle condition if no electronic consumer is connected to the electrical contact.
Automatic cut-off of a speech connection (e.g. when handset is not hung up) realised by the indoor or front-door station. The communication time can be adjusted at the front-door station with the Service Device or the configuration Software configo. If the communication
time is exceeded, the front-door station automatically terminates the voice communication (factory setting 56 sec.). When the front-door
station does not terminate the voice communication, the indoor station ends the communication after 2 minutes (factory setting). With
the configuration software configo, an unlimited communication time can be adjusted.
Image activation
Functionality of a video indoor station: By pressing the image activation button, the video image of the video camera appears on the
display.
Call distinction
Feature of an indoor station to distinguish incomming calls made by different indoor stations. The different calls are signalled by different
ring tones.
Current which is consumed by an electric consumer from a power company with voltage present. The maximum input current equals the
current at point of maximum power.
Input impedance
Call diversion
The call diversion is used to divert a door or internal call from a front-door station to a second indoor station of the TCS door communication system. The call diversion is activated at the function key of the indoor station.
Input impedance, also called input resistance, is at the entrance of an electric consumer or device and burdens the source device (e.g.
power supply unit) which provides voltage at the respective entrance.
Communication time
The period of time during which the voice communication is active even after the call has been accepted. After the period has expired, the
connection is terminated automatically (automatic call cut-off).
Input voltage
On the one hand, the input voltage is the operation voltage which is provided at the entrance of an electrical circuit by an external source.
On the other hand, the input voltage is responsible for the operation of the device and has a defined tolerance range. The input voltae is
also a measure that corresponds to an input signal and always has a defined tolerance range.
Concealed screws
Concealed screws to protect the font-door station from vandalism. To install the front-door station and to change the nameplate glass, the
device is opened from below. After removing the screws, the lower panel can be slid to the side and the nameplate glass can be removed
downwards.
Internal call
By using the internal call function, the communication between two indoor stations of a TCS door communication system can be realised.
To trigger an internal call (internal voice communication), the function key at the indoor station is pressed.
Jumper
Data protocol
A data protocol is the preset structure of a data block at the BUS wire. The structure of the data block is defined so that every BUS device
can understand and process the data.
Light switch function
Due to the light switch function, the door release button at the indoor station can have a dual allocation. When voice communication and
light switch function are active, a door release is triggert. Without a voice communication, the lights are switched. Thus the function key
of the indoor station can also be used for other functions.
When the light switch function is triggered, a light switch protocol is send to the TCS:BUS . This protocol triggeres the light switching
contact in the control unit.
The period when the light relay of the power supply and control unit is activated.
Technology to optimize voice and video quality in order to provide a disturbance-free voice and video connection. The digitisation can
compensate echos which would lead to feedbacks.
DIN-rail
A DIN-rail is a standardised mounting rail with a u-shaped profile resp. a profile similar to a hat. The DIN-rail is used in casings, distributor systems or control cabinets. Rail-mounted devices are fixed on a DIN-rail with a clamping mechanism.
Door call
By pressing the bell button, the door call to the allocated indoor station is triggered.
When the door release autimatic is activated, an incoming door call triggers the opening of the door. This is especially useful for medical
practices to grant access during opening hours. This function is de-/activated at the function key of the indoor station.
Master
A Master is a data terminal which realises the organisation and distribution of activities between superior (Master) and subordinated
(Slave) data terminals.
Triggering the relay for the door opener at the power supply and control unit.
Matching resistor
The plug, switch or jumper connects the matching resistor in the device with the video wires V1 / V2. The matching resistor prevents
reflections at the ends of BUS devices. The matching resistor shall correspond to the characteristic wave resistance of the wires. If there
A protocol send to a door release relay or power supply and control unit in order to open a door. Without serial number: short TCS:BUS
protocol, with sereial number: long TCS:BUS protocol.
Open-circuit voltage
Is the voltage, when no electric currrent flows, that is when no electric consumer is connected.
The door release time is the time of the activation of the door opener. The door release time can be adjusted.
Operating voltage
Set voltage range (in Volt) for an electronic device, where the device operates error-free and reliable.
The door standby time is the period of time from pressing the bell button till the LED indication at the indoor station goes off.
OSD menu
On-Screen-Display (OSD) is a drop-down menu on the display. The OSD is activated by pushing the menu button or image button.
Duplex communication
The output current is the current that flows at the output connector of a power supply (e.g. power supply unit) to the electrical consumer.
The maximal output current is the current that can be obtained by a load over a short period of time e.g. when an electric motor starts.
EEPROM memory
The EEPROM memory (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) is a pluggable memory in front-door stations. All
programmed data such as serial numbers and parameters are stored in the EEPROM memory. If the front-door station has to be changed,
the EEPROM memory can be removed and installed to the new front-door station which has to be identical in construction.
Output impedance
Output impedance, also output resistance, is the resistance of a power supply at the output terminal of electronic consumers or devices.
Output voltage
Electric voltage measured at output terminals of a power supply (e.g. power supply unit).
Parallel call
A second indoor station also rings when a door, internal or floor call is incoming. The ring tone sounds at both indoor stations. Several
devices can be called with one ring tone. This call is realised at the TCS:BUS simply by programming a parallel serial number. Then, the
call is transferred into a ring tone by more than one indoor station.
Parallel operation
The feature to logically connect an indoor station B with an indoor station A in parallel. Due to the logical connection of both indoor
stations, indoor station B also reacts to door, internal and floor door calls to indoor station A.
84
Pushing the floor push button triggers a floor door call, thus the indoor station connected to the floor push button is called.
The indoor station can be configured that by pressing the door release button not only the front-door but also a floor door can be opened.
Depending on the origin of the door call, the indoor station selects the respective door that is to be opened.
Push button at the floor door to ring the bell. The floor push button is connected to the indoor station.
85
Chapter 10 Annex
86
Programming table
A tool for installers of TCS products. The programming table is used to document serial numbers of a TCS door communication system.
Protocol digit
Digit which is send as TCS:BUS protocol when programming with the TCS Service Device TCSK-01. The digit is allocated with a certain
function.
PTZ Camera
If a PTZ camera (Pan Tilt Zoom) has been installed, the image section shown on the display can be changed by panning horizontally,
tilting vertically as well as by zooming in and out. Due to the large coverage, several buildings can be monitored via video with only one
camera.
PTZ Interface
Device for surface-mount which supports the control protocols of most of the PTZ cameras available. The PTZ interface can be operated
as a stand alone camera when connected to a PTZ camera or also operated when allocated to a video front door station at a TCS:BUS.
Nevertheless, to control the interface, a video indoor station with the corresponding operating elements is necessary.
Reflexion
When electromagnetic waves spread on wires, a reflection is caused at the end of the wire. If the wire is not adjusted in terms of impedance, the signal will be reflected partially or completely from the output to the input. See: terminating resistor.
Ring tone
At the called indoor station, the ring tone acoustically signals an incoming call from a front-door or another indoor station.
When ring tone suppression is activated, door calls from a front-door or indoor station are signalled optically. There is no acoustic signalling.
Sender identification
TCS door communication systems feature a sender identification called AS-address. In order to realise a voice communication, the called
device has to know who is the sender (wich station) of the call. This information is provided by the sender identification. With the Service
Device TCSK-01, this information is set in the front-door station. By locking the sender identification, also called AS-lock, the automatic
change of the sender identification by the front-door station is prevented.
Sensors
Sensors are any devices that collect and process analogue values (temperature sensors, brightness, motion) or binary information (e.g.
switch positions, impulses by push buttons , messages).
Serial number
All system components at the TCS:BUS have a unique, not changeable serial number with 6 digits. With this number, the chosen device
is contacted.
Short-circuit
Low-resistance connection between two points within a circuit with different potential. A short-circuit leads to overcurrents which can
cause damages.
A device is short-circuit protected, if an electric or electronic circuit is not damaged when a short-circuit occurs at the outputs. The
immunity to short-circuits is provided by certain measures. These measures ensure that circuits with overload or short-circuit are not
damaged or destroyed by overvoltage, overcurrents or thermal load.
Short-term memory
Indication of a door call, after the door call has been made. The indication is time-limited.
Simplex communication
Slave
A Slave is a simple data station which is controlled by the Master station. In a Master-Slave-Constellation, the superior Master station
transfers the tasks to the secondary Slave stations. Slave stations are passive communication participants which are requested by the
Master station to receive or send Slave data: See: Master.
Status indication
With the sub door call, in combination with a front-door call, up to four different ring tones can be triggered at an indoor station from a
front-door station. Thus the distinction of the ring tone already indicates the recipient of the door call e.g. parent, children ... .
Transformer
A transformer is a device that generates alternating voltages in order to convert electric energy to any level.
The video privacy function prevents seeing the video communication between a video indoor station and a video front-door station by a
third party.
Voltage supply
win:clip system
There are no visible screws at the audio or video front-door stations. To install or change the name plates, the name plate glass can be
removed and replaced with a small special key (win:clip).
Wiring diagram
A wiring diagram is an abstracted schematic of the wiring. The wiring diagram provides information on electrical functions and current
courses of TCS door communication systems as well as the wiring of TCS system components.
