The Nicola Watershed Community

Round Table has organized a meeting to
learn about biosolids and how they are
regulated; hear concerns of residents and
plans of landowners who wish to apply
biosolids on the land. The meeting will
take place on Monday, January 26, at the
Civic Centre, and is open to all residents
of the Nicola watershed.
The meeting will run 9:30am to
3:30pm with a 45-minute lunch break.
You are welcome to bring a bag lunch,
but due to the expected high numbers of
people, the NWCRT will not be providing a lunch. Coffee, tea, juice and water
will be available.
Some of the highlights are: 10:10am
Urban Systems Dr. Joanne Harkness on
the ABCs of Biosolids. 11:15am zoning
regulations and process to change zoning
with TNRD Dir. of Devt Services Regina
Sadilkova. 11:45 overview of the Organic
Matter Recycling Regulation and Regulation Requirements for Land Application and Composting Sites from BC Min.
of Env. 1pm IHAs Mike Adams will
speak on the role of Interior Health in
Biosolid Management & Drinking Water
Protection Act. 1:45 Biology Phds report
presented by Georgia Clement, Friends

There will be Q&A sessions for the
