ASSESSMENT OF COURSE OUTCOMES
Number of Students, who have given the feedbacks : N (60 or 66 or 72).
Find the Number of Excellent(EC) Good(GC), Average(AC), Poor/No Comment(PC)
Excellent Count (EC)
Good Count (GC)
Average Count (AC)
Poor Count (PC)
No Comment Count (NCC)
Assessment of Course Outcomes will be as per the following formula: =
(5xEC+4xGC+3xAC+2xPC+1xNCC)/N
EXAMPLES
Assuming EC=10, GC=30, AC=10, PC=10, NCC=0 & N = 60
Then, Course Outcome shall be = (5x10 + 4x30 + 3x10 + 2x10)/60
(50+120+30+20)/60
(220/60) = 3.67
73%
Assuming EC=10, GC=10, AC=20, PC=10, NCC=10 & N = 60
Then, Course Outcome shall be = (5x10 + 4x10 + 3x20 + 2x10+1x10)/60
(50+40+60+20+10)/60
(180/60) = 3.00
60%

NBA ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGIES HANDBOOK
4.2 ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGIES:
1)
Faculty members shall prepare course objectives, course outcomes, gaps in the
prescribed syllabus (against contemporary issues), topics beyond syllabus to fill
the gaps, assignment topics etc.
2)
Faculty members shall also prepare course-wise, assessment sheets to measure
the learning outcomes (as detailed in the previous samples).
3) Departments Assessment
Committee shall
assess the learning outcomes as
voiced by the students, in each semester (Assessment of outcomes by all the
students are to be carried out and the class average has to be calculated).
4) Faculty members along
with the Assessment Committee shall prepare the
following subject-wise learning outcomes based on the following parameters:
a. Performance of students in tests.
b. Performance of students in assignments.
c. Performance of students in seminars.
d. Course-wise learning outcomes assessed
e. Students feedback on various courses
f. Students performance in the University Examination.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES: Program educational objectives are broad
statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is
preparing graduates to achieve [ABET]. Departments have the following stated program
educational objectives:
Graduates shall have firm foundation, in-depth & advanced knowledge in the engineering
program, which prepares them for employment in Industries.
Graduates will go for higher studies as and when required or they need for it.
Graduates have engineering traits like good communication skills, interpersonal skills, team
work, ethics etc.
Graduates have understood the importance of life-long learning for their professional and
personal growth.
