At night, when all is still the forest sentinel glides silently areas the hill

Summary
The poem The Owls is beautifully composed by ruskin bond in poem
the poet addresses the owl as the guard or soldier of the forest . he describes
how the owl the moves above and across the hill and sits on the old pine tree
. the poet belief that the owl has a friendly appearance through this poem, the
poet disagrees with beliefs of people who think that beliefs of the owl as a
bad omer he says that the owl has brought no harm or bad luck to him infact
the owls cry is softer than a peacocks alls. He supports his views by saying
that if men have the freedom to speak then the oul should also have the
freedom to hoot. The poem ends with the poets ---------------- question as to
why these who keep crying the night is good and all is well.

SUMMARY
The poet of the poem Thomas Alva Edison is Vivian Gouled. In this poem
he talks about the unusual traits of Edison when he was a small boy.
The poet says Thomas Alva Edison in his childhood was never seen with a
desire of any childish toy. His teachers opinion was that he is unable to learn
his lessons and so he was sent back home.
Tommys Mother was sure and had a strong belief that her son was not a
fool. He worked as a newsboy and also learned how to telegraph. His
passion for work sometimes made people laugh at him.
The poet in the last lines and enlists the inventions made by him.
Phonograph, super storage battery, electric bulbs were all invented by Edison
. The poet says that all these inventions have made our lives better and
bright. He concludes the poem by asking one to imagine how dull our lives
would be without movie, electricity radio etc.
