of Skagit Products and SMATCO Industries, Inc. The
formulation of Oil States Skagit SMATCO unites the unique
resources of both companies to design, manufacture and
refurbish a complete line of products for the marine and

Since the early 1900s, Skagit Products has been building
heavy-duty machinery for a variety of industries. Skagit is the

systems for offshore drilling vessels, pipelay and derrick
barges, and floating production systems.

Skagit SMATCO
The Skagit WMD mooring windlass is

specifically designed for drilling vessels and
is available in single, double or triple wildcat
configurations. The unit features a five-whelp
designed wildcat with European designed wildcats available upon request. The WMD can be
arranged for vertical and horizontal chain lead
and is furnished with chain strippers to provide
smooth feeding of chain into the chain lockers.
The WMD, as standard, is powered by a DC
traction motor driving through a two-speed
gearbox. The unit is furnished with spring-set,
air-released band-type wildcat brakes with
manual over-ride. The wildcats are fitted with a pawl, which upon request, are releasable under all
load conditions. The WMD is available with an optional water-cooled dynamic brake for high-speed
payout during anchor deployment.
Local controls with tension, speed and length readouts and remote emergency release command
feature are standard. Remote control system available upon request.

SMATCO
The Skagit ETW, AED, and DMW series mooring

winches are specifically designed for mooring offshore
vessels. The units are available as single and double
drum in side-by-side and waterfall configuration. Wire
rope lead can be horizontal or vertical.
The winches, as standard, are powered by a G.E.
traction motor (or equal) driving through a two-speed
gearbox. The winches are furnished with spring-set,
air-released band-type drum brakes and air-actuated
drum pawls. Optional water-cooled dynamic brakes
and sheave-type levelwinds are available.
Local controls with tension, speed and length readouts
and remote emergency release command feature
are standard. Remote control system available upon
request.

The Skagit TMWW series

The Skagit Model JUW-series Jack-up mooring

winch is a single-drum, underwinding unit
designed specifically for offshore use. The unit
is powered by an electric motor driving a gear
reducer or optional two-speed gearbox and
drum gearset.
A manually actuated dog is provided.
The winch is equipped with a manual handwheel-actuated-and-released drum brake. A
direct-connected, watertight motor disc brake
is rated to hold any load the motor can pull.
A manually operated mechanical clutch is
provided to disconnect the drum from the drive
line to allow free spooling of the drum.

The Skagit RB and MD series hoists are designed for heavy lift and lowering and anchor applications.
The winches are available as single drum and two, three, and four drum waterfall units.
The hoists have single or compound gearing in the drum set with a choice of diesel engine/torque
converter/transmission and electric DC and AC drives coupled to multiple speed gearboxes.
The RB and MD series are furnished with spring-set and air-released band-type drum brakes and
air-actuated drum pawls. Dynamic brakes are available upon request.
Local control console is standard. Remote control systems are available upon request.
