ASSURE Lesson Plan 3

Prepare the Learners

The teacher will explain what is required of the students prior to the lesson by showing
them the scoring guide of their final project and an example.

Provide the Learning Experience

Invite students to sit around the projector and adjust until they can see the screen
comfortably.

Students will be shown how to create a Kahoot! Account, and they will follow along with
the teachers instructions. (https://getkahoot.com/tutorials/Kahoot_Tutorials.pdf)

Once the account is created, the teacher will demonstrate how to create a quiz, discussion,
and survey. The instructor will introduce vocabulary when it is used in the lesson.

Students will create their own quiz that is aligned with the grading rubric. Students will
create a quiz on the topic of their choosing.

In the middle of the manipulation time, the teacher will discuss with the class issues that
students are running into in order to help the class as a whole.

Once all students have finished, the class will play each others Kahoot!.

At the end of the lesson, students will take a summative quiz.

REQUIRE LEARNER PARTICIPATION (& TEACHING STYLE)
Practice

-Discussion of materials that can be included in quiz

-Ample time (20 minutes) to manipulate website and begin creating quiz
-Discussion of problems that students are running into
-30 minutes to complete and finalize final project
EVALUATE & REVISE
Assessment of Learner Achievement
Students will create a Kahoot quiz and will be graded based on the attached rubric.
Students will take a summative quiz about Kahoot and its uses.
Evaluation of Instruction
Media & Methods: To assess the value of the media and lesson methods upon student learning,
the teacher needs to reflect on the following questions:

Did most of the students seem excited about and engaged during the discussion?

Did students create satisfactory projects? If not, where did you see struggles?
Did students express the value of the tool and give examples of where they could use it in
the future?

ASSURE Lesson Plan 4

Reflection on lesson overall
I really enjoyed teaching this lesson. My student was engaged the whole time, asked thoughtprovoking questions, and said that she would bring this tool into her office for discussions and
surveys. It took a little bit of discussion between us for her to realize that Kahoot! can be used
in an educational setting as well as a business setting. The tutorial I found online in order to
teach myself the technology was very useful in teaching my student. There is no use
reinventing the wheel, so I used that in part of my lesson as well. We had a fun time exploring
the Kahoot! quizzes that already exist. I can definitely see myself using this lesson in the
future so I can educate my future colleagues and students how to create their own Kahoot!
quizzes.
