UTILIZE MATERIALS
Preview the Materials
The teacher will familiarize themselves with the Kahoot! Website and create a sample
activity to utilize in the lesson. The teacher will also capture screen shots of the site in use.
The teacher will gather the following materials prior to the start of the lesson:

Desktop computer
Projector
Grading rubric
Summative quiz
Make sure the internet connection in the room is well established. Connect the desktop
computer to the projector. Open any web browser and go to the Kahoot! Website. Each
mobile device that is being used MUST have the Kahoot app downloaded. The room
should be set up so that all learners can view the projected images without any hindrance.
Students can be in chairs or all sitting on the floor.
The teacher will explain what is required of the students prior to the lesson by showing
them the scoring guide of their final project and an example.
Invite students to sit around the projector and adjust until they can see the screen
comfortably.
Students will be shown how to create a Kahoot! Account, and they will follow along with
the teachers instructions. (https://getkahoot.com/tutorials/Kahoot_Tutorials.pdf)
Once the account is created, the teacher will demonstrate how to create a quiz, discussion,
and survey. The instructor will introduce vocabulary when it is used in the lesson.
Students will create their own quiz that is aligned with the grading rubric. Students will
create a quiz on the topic of their choosing.
In the middle of the manipulation time, the teacher will discuss with the class issues that
students are running into in order to help the class as a whole.
Once all students have finished, the class will play each others Kahoot!.
Did most of the students seem excited about and engaged during the discussion?
Did students create satisfactory projects? If not, where did you see struggles?
Did students express the value of the tool and give examples of where they could use it in
the future?
