Gravity Shutters
Gravity Shutters are designed to prevent backow and to equalize the pressure across
the system. Each gravity shutter is carefully designed to equalize the pressure in areas
like compressor room, fan room or an exhaust system with that of the atmosphere
aided by gravity. These devices are employed at the end of an exhaust duct where it
opens up when the exhaust fan is turned ON, closes down when the fan is turned
OFF. The frames and blades are extruded aluminium alloy. Blades are selected
according to the type of application and the size of shutter. Assembled products are
electrostatic polyester powder coated to any architectural nish.

Gravity Shutters
Introduction
Gravity shutters are commonly employed in intake and exhaust applications in residential, commercial and industrial ventilating system. They are used in maintaining assured pressure in
pressure prone dwellings, where the blades automatically open to discharge the excessive air.
Gravity shutters are commonly known as pressure relief dampers and non return dampers.
Finish

Shape
Gravity Shutters are meant for installation on the Side walls and duct mounting.
Specially applied for exhaust air purposes and are modeled with blades for pressure relief application.
While enhancing cosmetic appearance they provide effective protection against elements.
Gravity Shutters are mainly used to discharge the contaminated air and as pressure relief ventilators in HVAC system.
Rugged assembly provides long durability.
Extensively used in the central air conditioning, ventilation and industrial ventilation systems.

Assembling Features
Gravity shutters are generally used for air discharge in residential, commercial and industrial applications.
Gravity shutters are designed to inhibit air reverse. It performs by automatic opening of the hanging blades in the unit when the
air pressure is heavy. It closes shut automatically when the pressure is released, thus allowing airow in only one direction. It is
commonly known as Pressure Relief Louvers.
Gravity shutters rugged, durable, heavy gauged extruded aluminum construction and careful fabrication assures effective weather
protection.
The 30mm wide frame anges are separated from the movable aluminum blades by an extruded rigid aluminum track which is
rivetted and becomes a part of the frame.
The blades are carefully designed to tolerate moderate pressure drop even for all weather conditions and also designed to restrict
water penetration.
The overlapping lips of the blades pasted with foam tapes assures a tight grip when the blades are in pressure released position.
All the models can be provided with foam rubber gasket as an option to prevent air leakage and wall smudging behind the frames.
