RULA AND REBA ANALYSIS

AIM
To check the posture is correct using RUBA AND REBA ANALYSIS. If not
change should be implemented.

RULA ASSESSMENT
The Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method has been developed
by Dr.Lynn McAtamney and Professor E. Nigel Corlett, ergonomists from the
University of Nottingham in England (Dr. McAtamney is now at Telstra, Australia)
. RULA is a postural targeting method for estimating the risks of work-related
upper limb disorders. A RULA assessment gives a quick and systematic assessment
of the postural risks to a worker. The analysis can be conducted before and after an
intervention to demonstrate that the intervention has worked to lower the risk of
injury.

REBA ASSESSMENT
The Rapid Entire Body Assessment worksheet (REBA) was designed for easy
use without need for an advanced degree in ergonomics or expensive equipment.
You only need the worksheet and a pen. On second thought, you probably should
finish reading and studying this guide, and I suppose a clipboard would help as
well. Using the REBA worksheet, the evaluator will assign a score for each of the
following body regions: wrists, forearms, elbows, shoulders, neck, trunk, back,
legs and knees. After the data for each region is collected and scored, tables on the
form are then used to compile the risk factor variables.
PROCEDURE:

The RULA and REBA worksheet explains the procedure. We follow it and enter
the corresponding values in the box.

This indicates that the above posture is an incorrect posture. Change has
been implemented.

INFERENCE:
1. Note the rounded low back, decreases flexion at the knees, forward chin
and chest pointing toward the floor.
2. The corrected posture yielded a much better score of REBA AND RULA
when compared to the earlier posture.
