    PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS


    PROULEX

    1. Using Internet Explorer or Netscape, access the registration Web site at the following URL:

    https://toefl-registration.ets.org/TOEFLWeb/extISERLogonPrompt.do

    Important to note when using our Web-based registration system:

    Supported Browsers: Our registration system currently supports Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or
    higher) and Netscape (version 7.1 or higher). It does not support the America Online (AOL) Web browser.
    If you use AOL to connect to the Internet, please launch either Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or higher) or
    Netscape (version 7.1 or higher) to access our registration system.

    Navigation: Do not use the <Back> button in your Web browser. Instead, use the navigation buttons
    within the application.

    Session Timeouts: Our Web-based registration system will time out after 20 minutes of being idle. If
    your computer is idle for 20 minutes during the profile creation or registration process, you will be taken
    to the My Home Page screen. If this occurs, please re-enter the URL for our registration system into your
    browser and log back into the registration system. If you were in the process of creating your profile when
    your session timed out, please re-enter the URL for our registration system into your browser and click
    the <Sign Up> button.

    CREATE YOUR PROFILE

    2. To begin creating a new user profile, click <Sign Up>. NEW USER

    3. Complete the Sign Up With ets.org: Part 1 of 3 page by entering the following required information. Then click
    <Continue>.
    o Country (for your mailing address)
    o Your Name (write your complete name in this box)
    o Your Last Name ( write both of your last names in this box, ignore the middle name box)
    o Your Mailing Address
    o Your Date of Birth
    o Your Telephone Number (where we can reach you)
    o Your Email Address (so that we can contact you)

    4. Complete the Sign Up With ets.org: Part 2 of 3 page by entering the following required information. Then click
    <Continue>.
    Select your Native Country.
    Select your Native Language.

    5. Complete the Sign Up With ets.org: Part 3 of 3 page by entering the information requested. Then click
    <Continue>.

    6. Create a User Name and Password Make a note of this login information as you will need them to log in to
    register and, if you plan to view your scores from this test at a later date, this same login information will be
    required.

    7. Select three (3) challenge questions and enter a response for each question.

    Password and Username Rules:

    Your password must be 8-16 characters long.

    It must contain at least 1 character from 3 of the following 4 categories:


    English uppercase characters (A through Z)
    English lowercase characters (a through z)
    Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
    Non-Alpha characters (! $ # %)

    Here are 2 examples of passwords that follow these rules:


    Clyde#01
    Yanks!26

    8. Review the information on the Sign Up With ets.org: Confirm Your Profile page.
    If the information is incorrect, click on the appropriate Edit box.
    If all of the information is correct, click <Confirm> and the My Home Page screen will appear.
    You will be given an ETS ID number, please write it down in a secure place.
