    Content Standard:
    2.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to apply knowledge of sounds of
    letters to recognise words in linear and non-linear texts.

    2.3 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to read independently for
    information and enjoyment.

    Learning Standard:
    2.3.3 Able to read and understand simple sentences in linear and non-linear texts.

    2.3.4 Able to read and understand a paragraph of 5-8 simple sentences.

    2.3.1 Able to read simple texts with guidance:


    a) fiction
    b) non fiction

    Objectives:
    By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to :
    (a) read and understand simple sentences in linear and non-linear texts.
    (b) read and understand a paragraph of 5-8 simple sentences.
    (c) read simple text with guidance.

    Activities:
    1. Teacher showsthebook cover to pupils.
    2. Teacher asks pupils to talk about the book cover shown.
    3. Teacher reads the story and asks pupils to repeat.
    4. Teacher asks pupils to read again and teacher will check their intonation and pronunciation.
    5. Teacher paste the pictures randomly and asks pupils to rearrange the picture according to the
    story.
    6. Teacher drills pupils with the story.
