NOTES
1
2 1. Dimensions are in millimetres unless otherwise specified. Nozzle sizes are given in inches.
3 2. Design service life for the heat exchanger shall be 25 years.
4 3. Thermal design and performance guarantee by supplier. Supplier to consider 10% margin on duty.
5 4. Supplier to carryout detailed vibration analysis and ensure vibration free operation for all cases.
6 5. It is the suppliers responsibility to perform mechanical calculations for all parts in accordance with the referenced code(s)
7 specification and standards. Thickness shall be adequate to maintain stability of equipment under all conditions.
8 6. All tubes shall be seamless and cold drawn. U-tube shall be cold-bent, with the mean radius of the 'U' bend not
9 less than 1.5 times the nominal outside diameter of tube OD. Tube wall thinning after forming shall be to TEMA standards.
10 7. U tubes are to be formed from a single length of tube.
11 8. Shell and channel girth flanges shall be weld neck & confined type and flange bolting shall be 'through bolted' type comprising of
12 stud bolt and two nuts on each end.
13 9. Guide rails shall be provided to facilitate removal of tube bundle.
14 10. Supplier to note that overall length of the exchanger shall not exceed 7 mts.
15 11. Supplier shall provide distributor pipe with necessary supports for inlet nozzle.
16 12. Design, fabrication and inspection shall be in accordance with specification for shell and tube heat exchanger, S-70-1220-3036
17 and Specification for pressure vessels, S-70-1220-3009.
18 13. Allowable nozzle loads shall be in accordance with specification for pressure vessels,S-70-1220-3009.
19 14. Heat exchanger shall be designed for full vacuum external pressure fully corroded at 300.2 deg F (149 deg C)
20 15. Material of construction shall be killed carbon steel, normalized and impact tested.
21 16. All bolt holes in flanges on manways and nozzles shall straddle the normal exchanger centre lines.
22 17. Supplier to provide insulation rings and fire proofing clips for exchanger supports.
23 18. Insulation & fire proofing are supplied by others.
24 19. Cold insulation shall be in accordance with Specification of cold insulation-General , S-13.9-012.
25 20. Supplier shall provide davit, hinges, gaskets & bolting for manways and purge nozzle.
26 21. Supplier to provide two earthing boss at diagonally opposite ends.
27 22. Equipment shall be designed for the seismic and wind accordance with Project Basis of Design, S-70-1223-1001
28 23. Painting and surface preparation shall be in accordance with Specification for painting for process piping,
29 equipment steel and concrete pedestals, S-13.9-002
30 24. Nozzle location, orientation and standout to be confirmed in the detail design phase of the Project.
31 25. All welds shall be continuous.
32 26. All nozzles shall be set-in type.
33 27. Heat exchanger shall be provided with all required lifting lugs, to facilitate handling during transportation and erection at site.
34 28. All internal attachment welded to pressure parts shall be full penetration welds.
35 29. Platform and ladder shall be provided by supplier, location and orientation shall be confirmed during detail engineering phase.
36 30. Anchor bolt design (sizing) by supplier, anchor bolts supply by others.
37 31. Supplier to provide 3mm thick PTFE plate under sliding saddle along with carbon steel bearing plate.
38 32. Supplier shall provide 150mm thick wooden block with cover plate and setting bolts&nuts for saddle supports.
39 Wooden block shall be dried oak saturated with creosote liquid.
