    7 Estimate Sum/Difference

    Day of the Week MATERIALS NOTES


    Roll and Round 1. Roll two dice.
    Monday: 2. Color the two-digit number green.
    3. Round the two-digit number to the nearest ten and
    Roll to 120 color that spot blue.
    3. Repeat these steps ten times
    Think of 2 two-digit numbers. Round them and
    Tuesday: Journal prompt estimate the sum. Draw base ten blocks to support
    Journals your answer.
    I have Who has cards: 1. Students deal out answer cards.
    Answer cards 2. Make a pile of question cards face down.
    Wednesday Question Cards
    (The student whose name begins with the first letter of the alphabet
    gets to pick the first question card.)
    I Have Who Has 3. The student who answers correctly first gets to flip the
    next question card. Repeat step 3 until someone is out of
    answer cards (they are the winner).
    Estimation Bingo 1. Get a board, baggie of facts, dry erase marker, and a
    Work in groups of two or recording sheet.
    three 2. Pick a fact card, solve it on your recording sheet, then
