Mcca Scholarship: General Information

MCCA SCHOLARSHIP
MCCA is proud to offer annual scholarships to graduating senior cheerleaders. $14,000 in scholarships are
awarded, ten $1,000 scholarships and two $2000 scholarships.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
1. Individuals will be awarded a one-year, non-renewable scholarship.

2. Applicant’s coach must be a member (dues paid) of MCCA.
3. Applicant must have a 3.0 grade-point average by the end of his/her junior year. Finalists may
be asked to submit their final GPA at the end of their 1st semester of their senior year.
4. Applicant must complete the MCCA Scholarship application form.
5. Winners must attend the MCCA Spring Conference Banquet to accept the scholarship. The banquet
date for this year’s conference is March 24, 2018.
GUIDELINES FOR FILLING OUT APPLICATION FORM:
1. COMPLETE ALL THE INFORMATION ON THE APPLICATION FORM. BE SURE TO HAVE ALL NECESSARY
SIGNATURES.
2. YOU MUST SUBMIT THREE (3) LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION. THEY ARE AS FOLLOW:
a. Coach-responsibility, reliability, leadership qualities, and contributions.
b. High School Administrator-same data as coach’s letter, but from an administrator’s viewpoint.
c. Community Representative-(4H leaders, scout leader, business person, religious leader, etc) how community
representative knows the applicant, impressions of the applicant’s ability to represent the community, etc.
3. SUBMIT AN ESSAY ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER. THE TITLE OF THE ESSAY IS:
“What Cheerleading Means to Me.”
 Discuss what you have gained from the activity.
 This essay should be no longer than one (1) typewritten page.
4. HAVE COUNSELOR VERIFY BY SIGNING ON APPLICATION THAT APPLICANT HAS A 3.0 GPA.
5. MAIL ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS AND LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION IN ONE ENVELOPE TO:
