NEW ESTATE BAPTIST CHURCH

Proposal for the installation of acoustic treatment materials, and the supply and
installation of a professional sound system at the worship facility of the New Estate
Baptist Church Gudu, presented by Lawrence Amana for Panam Music world.

INTRODUCTION

One of the challenges worshippers face in their worship facilities is that of high
reverberations created in large halls with hard surfaces and plastic chairs. Any
sound in such an arena is usually loud, harsh and rowdy. In addition, non-
professional and fake sound systems tend to worsen this situation. Controlling or
eliminating reverberations help an installed sound system to perform optimally.

For ease of execution, this project is proposed to be executed in phases.

PHASE 1

ACOUSTIC TREATMENT:

1. Change the chairs from plastic to acoustic friendly, padded seats. This
absorbs most of the sound that hits on it and also prevents the sound from
bouncing off the tiles on the floor.
2. Put rugs on the isles and walk ways and other empty spaces on the floor.
3. Fix high-density rugs on the walls from up to down and side to side behind
the stage, and the wall behind the church.
4. Rug the side walls of the church, and for more control, acoustic tiles can be
installed in selected portions of the walls.
5. Portions of the ceiling can be covered with wool decorations to reduce
reverberations from the ceiling.
The acoustic treatment is meant to be a control remedy since the church is
already built, but if fully and properly implemented, will make the sound
more balanced and sweeter. Whatever reverberation will be left will be
natural and not distort the sound reproduced at the audience position.

PHASE 2

TRUSSING:

Trussing is the professionally approved way of hanging stuffs of the floor. A

properly installed truss can hang speakers, lights, multimedia projectors cables,
plasma screens etc.

This proposal is recommending 5 pieces of 5 meters trusses to be hung from the

beams in the roof. First one directly across the stage front, one each on both sides of
the stage, one each by the sides of the hall, same line with the one in front.
PHASE 3

SOUND SYSTEM SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION:

A sound system that can be controlled to deliver a clear and smooth sound at equal
loudness to all seating areas is what is proposed for installation. There are several
professional sound systems that fit into this category, but this proposal is
recommending the award winning QSC KLA12 self-powered line array speakers.
The sound system comprises of:

1. 8 pcs of QSC KLA12 self powered line array speakers,

2. 6 pcs of QSC KW118 subwoofers,
3. 2 pcs of QSC KLA AF array frames for hanging speakers,
4. QSC SC28 speaker processor,
5. 3 pcs QSC PL380 power amplifier,
6. 8 pcs of JBL VRX915 monitor speakers,
7. Cables, plugs and other installation accessories.

Because the church is zoned into front, under balcony and the gallery, the sound has
to be addressed likewise. The line array speakers will adequately deal with the front
and up gallery, but under gallery can be addresses using the old system, or
alternatively a new installation of QSC K12 hung under the gallery.

PHASE 4

TRAINING:

It is recommended that trainings and retraining be organized for technical crew for
proper management and maximization of all installed equipments.

The church is expected to seek clarifications where necessary and also chart the way
forward.

We will be happy to sit down and discuss details.

Thank you.
