ROLL AND WRITE BOARD

Introduction:

This activity encourages the pupils to write especially the pupils who are the slow
learners. My language focus for this lesson was Future Tense (I will).

Targeted pupils:

Year 2

Issue:

I noticed that every time during my writing skills lesson, the pupils were slow in writing.
All of my pupils can write in neat legible print and most of them can write with the
correct punctuations. However, during the while-stage which was the writing practices,
they were too lazy to write and took some time to finish their work.

Date: 21.08.17

I introduced the Roll and Write Board in the class. This board/activity was conducted
during the post stage to consolidate and reinforce what has been learned during the
while-activity. First of all, I divided the pupils into 6 groups.

Step 1: In group, the pupils take turn to roll the dice.

Step 2: Every time, they roll the dice, they will move the bottle cap on the board and
immediately write the sentence in the box where the bottle cap stopped.

Step 3: They pupils will write the sentences in the worksheet provided.
