Hearing
1. Swimmer’s ear (Otitis Externa) - Swimmer's ear is an infection in the outer
ear canal, which runs from your eardrum to the outside of your head. It's often
brought on by water that remains in your ear after swimming, creating a moist
environment that aids bacterial growth.
2. Earwax buildup - Earwax blockage, also called cerumen impaction, can
occur when your body produces too much earwax or when existing wax is
pushed too far into your ear canal. In some cases, you may not be able to
hear out of the affected ear. But this typically lasts only until you can have the
excess wax removed. In most cases, home treatment works well, but a doctor
can also help eliminate and unplug earwax blockage.
3. Otitis media - Otitis media or middle ear infection involves the middle ear. In
otitis media, the ear is infected or clogged with fluid behind the ear drum, in
the normally air-filled middle-ear space.
4. Otitis interna - Otitis interna or labyrinthitis involves the inner ear. The inner
ear includes sensory organs for balance and hearing. When the inner ear is
inflamed, vertigo is a common symptom.
Vision
1. Nearsightedness - Nearsightedness, also known as myopia, is a common
type of refractive error where close objects appear clearly, but distant objects
appear blurry.
2. Farsightedness - Farsightedness (hyperopia) is a common vision condition
in which you can see distant objects clearly, but objects nearby may be blurry.
3. Astigmatism - Astigmatism is a common vision condition that causes
blurred vision. It occurs when the cornea (the clear front cover of the eye) is
irregularly shaped or sometimes because of the curvature of the lens inside
the eye.
Oral/Dental Problems
1. Cavities - A cavity is a hole that can grow bigger and deeper over time.
2. Bad Breath - Bad breath, medically called halitosis, can result from poor
dental health habits and may be a sign of other health problems.
