MULTI-ASSAULT, COUNTER TERRORISM ACTION CAPABILITIES (MACTAC)

COURSE OVERVIEW AND INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

COURSE LENGTH: 40 Hours (5 Days)


8.5 Hours Classroom
31.5 Hours Practical

COURSE OVERVIEW

This is a train-the-trainer course to develop the students’ basic skills in Multi-Assault, Counter Terrorism Action
Capabilities (MACTAC) to a proficient level that will enable the student to immediately deploy a contact team or
squad able to locate, close with and neutralize violent assaults and/or terrorist acts.

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

Upon completion of this course the attendee will be familiar with:

1. Performing contact team, squad maneuvers, and MACTAC techniques


2. Reading terrain
3. Utilizing the four A’s: Assess, Announce, Assemble & Act in field situations
4. MACTAC through field exercises
5. Assessing and leading police personnel in stopping violent and deadly behavior of an active shooter or
MACTAC suspects
6. Directing contact team, squad maneuvers and MACTAC techniques
7. Utilizing the four A’s to take the lead in building the department’s response to a MACTAC incident rapidly
and effectively as first responders arrive on scene
8. Rapidly deploying all available resources to stop violent aggressive deadly behavior
9. Managing department resources and personnel in the transition to post investigative activities

CO-HOST LOGISTIC REQUIREMENTS

CLASSROOM

Adequate seating for up to 34 students with tables, good ventilation


Marker board and markers
Flip chart with paper

AUDIO VISUAL

LCD Projector for computer presentation


Large projection screen (minimum of 6’x6’ screen size)
Speaker system to connect to laptop for audio
Extension cord and power strip
AV table or cart

PRACTICAL TRAINING SITES

Practical training and exercise areas such as; unoccupied school building (preferred) or
abandoned commercial buildings with hallways, multiple offices, and multi-level outdoor parking
lot area outside of the structure

OTHER

Access to copier
10 Inert Rifles or Simunition® Weapons
10 sets of Protective gear (helmets, vests, neck, groin)
2 blank starter pistols and 100 rounds

PRE PLANNED EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL ISSUES


Ensure dedicated EMT is present with EMT Kit
Ensure Students do not have any live weapons nor live ammo on training site

FOR LIVE FIRE EXCERSISE ON THE FINAL DAY


200 rounds per rifle per person for live-fire day
100 rounds per pistol per person for live-fire day
