    This hack of Super Mario World aims to recreate the style of early Mario games like Super Mario All-Stars. It contains levels and elements inspired by Super Mario Bros 1, 3, and 2, as well as Super Mario Land. The hack works in most emulators but may have issues in older versions of Snes9x or cause slowdown in Higan. Version 1.6 fixes bugs and crashes, adjusts difficulty, and makes minor changes to levels and sprites. Credits are provided for the many contributors of graphics, music, programming, and tools used.

    Super Mario Bros. 1X v1.

    Super Mario Bros. 1X or SMB1X is a Super Mario World rom hack


    aimed at recreating the style of Super Mario All-Stars era Mario games.
    The main theme for the hack is SMB1 but has elements from
    SMB3, SMB2 and SML which becomes more prominent in later levels.
    It contains many homages and references from said games.

    Disclaimer
    ========================================================

    - This hack contains special effects that may potentially not be suitable for
    people prone to seizures.

    - This is tested and works in most emulators. However it might possibly not work on
    certain versions of SNES9X (i.e. PSP Snes9x or
    older versions of Snes9X). There is also a small chance a random slowdown might
    occur when using Higan. (Haven't confirmed.)

    Story (Not really)


    ========================================================

    There's no real story in the game whatsoever nor I had planned for one.
    Just your typical Bowser kidnaps Peach one, just like the older games.

    Version History
    ========================================================

    v1.6
    - Fixed a bug that crashes the game in level 6-3 on certain conditions.
    - A-coin counter will now only show up in levels that uses it.
    - Shortened bomb flash duration
    - Slight adjustments in certain levels and sprites.
    - Reduced the chance of pop noise bug from happening.
    - Added save prompts in levels in Extra World 2 due to not having any Mushroom
    House to save on.
    (Note: Saving and resetting the game in there will create a point of no return
    until you finish the world.)

    v1.5
    - Fixed a major bug from the C3 release that happens only in accurate emulators and
    probably in
    real hardware that causes the palettes to mess up randomly, especially when
    pausing/unpausing.
    - Adjusted difficulty on some levels
    - Added invisible midways points on some of the longer levels. More common in
    Castle levels.
    - Added a "Checkpoint" midway room in Bowser's castle which contains
    a pipe that will lead you to the last room you died.
    - Some levels are slightly shortened.
    - Fixed a couple of minor mistakes.
