    DERIVES AUTHORITY States that ratify the U.N. Charter become parties to the

    CHAMBERS Two types of chambers i) Chambers for special


    categories of cases, ii) the formation of ad hoc
    chambers to hear particular disputes.

    ADHOC JUDGE The state party can send adhoc judge


    APPEAL No appeal provision for ICJ. ICJ decision is binding.
    UNSC can review if states do not comply.

    Organized into three chambers—i) Pre-Trial Chamber, ii)


    Trial Chamber, iii) Appeals Chamber

    No such provision institure by ICC


    Appeal is instituted by appeal chamber

    Member States and voluntary funding from UN and


    others.
