Gun Control
Gun control laws are unconstitutional, can cause more violence, and can hurt our society
more than help. Strict gun control laws can cause more violence in our society. They can also
impact our society in many negative ways. Strict gun control laws has many negative outcomes
What effects will enforced gun control laws have on our society? In his article, the author
states, “Still some say gun buyback events generate great community solidarity, regardless of
practical result…” (Rosenwald 12). This reveals that if we get guns off the streets and out of
hands of criminals then gun violence will halt. Once people realize that strict gun control laws
are not needed to make our society a better place, the better of we will be. In an article, the
author states, “analysts say the parade of violence has served only to harden feelings on both
sides of the gun control battle.” (Cathaleen 7). This shows that gun violence and shootings call
for stricter policies and safety measures when a gun is being sold. If it is harder for these
criminals to get guns, then they will not have guns to cause shootings with.
How are gun control laws unconstitutional? “Nearly 1 in 3 Americans own a gun, But
only 5 million belong to the NRA.” (Battaglio 3). This reveals that not all guns can be tracked or
registered. It is important to notice that this means the government will not be able to take away
all guns because they will not be able to track the ones that are not registered. “The Supreme
Johnson 2
Court has no problems with the federal government infringing on the right to bear arms.” (Berger
6). This shows that the government does not care what rules they have to break to get what they
want. The government taking our guns is unconstitutional and should not be allowed.
On the other side of the argument, In order to eliminate gun violence, we need to enforce
stricter gun laws. “Advocates say the shootings underline the need to get guns off the streets…”
(Spina 9). This shows that when violence occurs society starts to worry more. If we removed the
threat of guns then this would not have to happen, our society would be worry free of gun
violence. “Criminals do not respect the law thus they will still commit these crimes.”(Spina 3).
This shows that no matter what we do, Gun violence will continue. If we remove guns all
together there would not be any guns to commit these crimes with.
However, what are society's feelings on gun control, How do they feel about it? “People
feel a greater need to protect themselves, be armed or take defensive action or blame certain
people and contain those people.” (Jonsson 5). It is important to notice that a great amount of
people feel protected when they have guns. If you take away what makes people feel safe, it may
cause more serious issues and rebellious acts like them fighting back. “To insure more safety the
government has passed laws so that people with mental illnesses cannot buy guns, added
background checks to private gun sales, and creating a federal database to track gun sales.”
(Cathaleen 12). This shows that adding these safety precautions can be a great step for gun safety
without enforcing gun control laws. It is important to notice that a lot of shooters have some sort
of mental disability, therefore not letting them acquire these weapons could prevent future
Gun control laws are unconstitutional, can cause more violence and hurt our
society more than help. Strict gun control laws overall has a bad effect on our society and is not
the most ideal way to add gun safety. Do not let the government take away your rights! Help our
