SEMINAR REPORT
Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy, RVS Nagar, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh
organized a one day National Seminar on “Current Trends in Pharmaceutical
Sciences” and “ World Pharmacists Day celebrations” on 25th September, 2017
as a part of Continuous Education Programme.
The core concept of the seminar is to motivate the academicians and young
researchers about the Biopharmaceutics which examines the interrelationship of the
physico-chemical properties of the drug, the dosage form in the area of research.
The concept facilitates the exchange of knowledge in terms of research and
development and to endorse several educational institutions for preparing potential
and efficient graduates. The seminar also enlightens the area of clinical research
oriented to safety and efficacy medications, devices, diagnostic products and
treatment regimens intended for human use. Thus the main objective of the seminar
is to provide a common platform to discuss and update the knowledge with respect
to the trend setting areas like Biopharmaceutics and clinical research in
pharmaceutical sciences.
The World Pharmacists Day 2017 with the theme: “From Research to Health Care:
Your Pharmacist is at your service” is celebrated to reflect the numerous
contributions of pharmacy profession to health care. The theme mainly emphasis
that pharmacists are the back bone of health care in many different settings and
taking care of patients begins with pharmacists.
The seminar was held for one full day with Scientific and innovative sessions. The
registrations for seminar started at 8.30 am onwards. All the participants have
reached the venue with lot of enthusiasm for attending the seminar. Delegate kits
were provided at the time of registrations. Around 400 delegates were participated in
the seminar.
The seminar was started with Inaugural function which was chaired by
Dr.K.Bhaskar Reddy (Principal, Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy);
Dr.Bhaskar Patel (Principal, Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering &
Technology); Mrs.V.Sujatha (Principal, Sri Venkateswara College of Nursing),
Dr.K.Lakshmi Sivasubramanian (Vice Principal, Sri Venkateswara College of
Pharmacy); Dr.K.Kavitha (Organizing Secretary, Sri Venkateswara College of
Pharmacy) and the chief Guest for the function was Dr.Paul Ravikumar, Medical
Superintendent, District Head Quarters Hospital (Government Hospital), Chittoor.
Inaugural function started around 10.00 am. Dr.K.Bhaskar Reddy, Professor &
Principal, Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy addressed the gathering. The
Chief Guest addressed the audience with his valuable speech and enumerated
about “The importance of Pharmacy Profession”.
After inaugural function, the Sessions were revoked by Dr. Manasa Deepa R,
Professor & HOD, East West College of Pharmacy, Bangalore for Biopharmaceutics
and Pharmacokinetics aspects in pharmaceutical formulations. After this session
delegates were provided with high tea and snacks.
Next session was started with a lecture by eminent speaker Dr.Santosh S, MBBS,
DLO, DNB, FMES (POL), Fellowship in Laryngology, Consultant-ENT and Head &
Neck surgery, Columbia Asia Hospital, Bangalore. He focused on Clinical
prospective and outcomes in health practice. Dr.Kishore, MBBS., MS., Professor
and HOD, Department of Microbiology, RVS Institute of Medical Sciences,
Chittoorhad shared his knowledge on AntibioticsPolicy.Delegates actively
participated in interactions and raised various points which were clarified by the
speakers. All the speakers were felicitated with shawl, garland and memento.
All the delegates were provided with High class Lunch. After lunch scientific session
was started with poster and oral presentations. All the scientific sessions were very
fruitful and informative. Best poster as well as oral presentation has been awarded.
Valedictory function started from 4.00 pm onwards. Participation and prizes were
distributed to all the delegates. The organizing secretary Dr.K.Kavitha has reported
about full day events and expressed gratitude to all the resource persons, delegates,
members of various committees of seminar and management of Sri Venkateswara
College of Pharmacy. Session ended up with National Anthem.
