RESEARCH QUESTIONS
This research aims to answer the different questions as stated below:

1. What cause a person to have a particular sexual orientation?
2. Is homosexuality a mental disorder?
3. What is the nature of same-sex relationship?
INTRODUCTION
At a time when lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals are an
increasingly open, acknowledged and visible part of society. Clinicians and researchers are faced
with incomplete information about the health status of this community. Although a modest body
of knowledge on LGBT health has been developed over the last two decades, much remains to
be explored. What is currently known about LGBT health? Where do gaps in the research in this
area exist? What are the priorities for the research agenda to address these gaps? Along with the
objectives, this study provides an in-depth understanding about the causes behind what triggers
a person to have a particular sexual orientation, determine whether a homosexuality a mental
disorder or not and the nature of same-sex relationship.
The term “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community” or “LGBT

Community” refers to a broad coalition of groups that are diverse with respect to gender, sexual
orientation, race/ ethnicity and socioeconomic status. Thus, while this study focuses on the
community that is encapsulated by acronym LGBT, the researchers wish to highlight the
importance of recognizing that the various populations represented by each letters are distinct
groups, each with its own special health-related concerns and needs. They believe that it is
essential to emphasize these differences at the outset of this case because in some contemporary
scientific discourse and in the popular media, these groups are routinely related as a single
population under umbrella term LGBT. At the same time, these groups have many experiences
in common, key among them being the experience of stigmatization.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
This study is limited only in the causes and effects of a person why they choose to
become part of LGBT. Health issue is also part of this study. In the context of the issue outlined
above, the IOM was asked by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to convene a committee on
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender health issues, research gaps and opportunities. The
researchers included experts from the fields of mental health, biostatistics, clinical and medicine.
Adolescent health and development, aging, parenting, behavioral sciences, HIV research,
demography racial and ethnic research.
Due to a limited time, this study will no longer discuss other issues regarding the LGBT
community. This is also to give emphasis and disrupt false claims about LGBT and give other
people clear information about the said case.
BENEFITS AND BENEFICIARIES
This study will give the required understanding on social identity development and
contemporary issues in LGBT community. As a subject this will also give emphasis on its
importance in concurrent thinking towards the most neglected community.
The outcomes of the study will be beneficial to all the stakeholders including churches,
schools particularly on the students, teachers and/or staffs and even organizations for policy
making as a whole. This is also a big help to design the subject/curriculum, policies / rules and
governing laws that will not hinder or demoralize the LGBT community. On the other hand,
parents will also be aware of their big responsibility in guiding their children in taking the right
road to head on especially if their children belong to it. Likewise, the whole community will fully
understand the issue regarding the case thereby making appropriate actions in terms of
socializing or dealing with the LGBT ones. Moreover, one thing for sure that will benefit this study
is the LGBT members themselves, for the people will acknowledge their strengths and
weaknesses if they are acquainted with good thoughts/ thinking which will surely promote
equality.
As whole, full understanding about this matter will lead to sharing, caring, acknowledging,
loving and importantly accepting any individual regardless of his/her beliefs, culture, attitudes,
values and gender or sexual status.

RELATED LITERATURE
 This study examined the effects of minority stress on the physical health of lesbians, gays,
men and bisexuals (LGBTs). Participants (N-396) completed baseline and one year follow-
up interviews. Exposure to stress and health outcomes were assessed with the two
methods (DM Frost,K lehavoT. IM Meyer).
 The pioneering longitudinal studies of child development (all launched in the 1920s and
1930s) were extended well beyond childhood. Indeed, they eventually followed their
young study members up to the middle years and later life (GHElderJr.Child
development,1998-wiley online).
 To aid my exploration of the differential experiences lined by LGBT aid and development
workers. I adopt queer theory (or more correctly theories) to problematize the apparent
homogeneity of the aid and development sectors in allowing me to consider what is
working where and for whom in sectors which are maybe surprisingly heteronormative.
(Gamson and Moon 2004; Stein and Plummer 1994:185).
 This pay penalty puzzle is not unique to our analysis and is consistent with sociological
research which finds that individuals experience disadvantage and privilege based on
their sociallocation-defined as the combined statuses of ethnicity, gender, class and other
social categories (Weber,2001;Browne and Misera,2003).
NARRATIVE REPORT
Elected officials hold a big responsibility not just in terms of doing their tasks or
obligations laid on their hands and shoulders but of course in socializing, dealing and serving as
a model in all aspects. The same holds true in being a secretary of the class.
School year 2018-2019, I was elected as Secretary of our class. Being a secretary, I was
obliged of checking the attendance, recording notes, writing on the board and doing the minutes
of every meeting conducted. It is also my duty in heart to give notes to my classmates who have
missed previous lessons due to inevitable cases. Moreover, as a class secretary I did assist our
class leader/mayor in keeping records and important data or information for relevant purposes.
Aside from these, I’ve also shown positive attitude towards everything and every students to
exhibit the very essence of a true role model. I was able to successfully do all my duties and
obligations with the guide, of course, of our class adviser.
At the very short period of time of being class secretary, I’ve been molded in terms of
being responsible student and importantly leadership reigns in me which is a powerful asset on
becoming a productive and successful individual.
