Materials Needed to make one elf :


red fabric­ body, arms,   5″ X 12″
red fabric­ legs  6″ X 4″ –2
cream or other fabric- face and hands :
3 1/2″ X 12″
polyfil stuffing
buttons-eyes & needle and thread
4 pipe cleaners
fleece 6″ X 10″ color of hair
fleece 1″ X 6″ green for collar

These elves are 12″ tall.  They have pose­able arms and legs which let them have fun hanging about, holding onto
things or posing for fun.

Elf Doll Instructions:


1) Print off templates and cut out
2)  Sew the 5″ red fabric to the 3 1/2″ face fabric
3) Lay the body template on the fabric- lining up the face line
with the seam of the red/cream Pin in place and Cut out
4) Cut out arms lining up the hands line with the seam again.
5) Cut out legs from red fabric
6) Cut out hair from fleece
7) Sew the arms and legs, leaving the top edge open
8) Turn right sides out
9) Stuff a little bit of polyfil into the arms and legs and push to
the ends

Elf Doll Instructions:


10) Fold the pipe cleaner in half and twist the end– leaving a
loop. Finish twisting the rest of the pipe cleaner
11) Stuff the pipe cleaner loop end first- into the arm/legs- sew
across the top of the arms and legs to secure the pipe cleaner in
place
12) Sew the hair pieces to the front and back of heads- for the
girls, cut 6 strips 1/4″ X 2″ and sew 3 to each side of the head
13) Pin the arms and legs in place and stay stitch them into place
14) Pin the front body to the back body and sew all the way
around, leaving an opening on one side- under the arm for turning
15) Turn right sides out and stuff somewhat firmly. If you’d like
you can snip the ends of the pipe cleaners- if not, bend them so
they aren’t sharp and jabbing out of the stuffing
16) Using a ladder stitch, close the opening

Elf Doll Instructions:


17)  Snip the 1″ green fleece for a pointy collar design
18) Wrap around the neck and stitch together in the back. You
can snip the length if needed before sewing together.
18) Stitch a running stitch around the collar to secure to doll
19) Sew buttons in place (you can substitute this with felt if you’d
like) and cheeks
20) Tie ribbons around the hair ponies and secure with a knot

Materials needed for the skirt:


2– 4″ X 9 1/2″ or 1– 4″ X 19″
6″ elastic for waist
double folded hem tape for the bottom of skirt 19″
Skirt Instructions:
1)  Sew one side of the 9 1/2″ X 4″ pieces to make one large and
long skirt piece
2) Sew the hem tape along the bottom of the skirt- slip the bottom
of the skirt into the fold of the double folded hem tape
3) Sew the side together
4) Fold the top edge and hem the top of the skirt, leaving a small
opening for feeding the elastic through
5) Using a safety pin, feed the elastic through the hem and sew
the ends
6) Sew the opening closed and snip all threads

Materials needed for the hat:


red fleece 10″ X 6″
white fleece or fuzzy fleece for hat trim 3/4″ X 10″

Hat Instructions:
1) Cut out the two pieces of hat in fleece
2) Lay right sides together and sew only ONE side of the
hat
3) Open the hat up and lay the white fleece on top of the
red fleece along the bottom and sew along the bottom
long edge
4) Fold the hat back so right sides are facing and sew the
other side of the hat
5) Snip the point and turn right sides out
6) Sew a pom pom to the top of the hat
* if you need to adjust the hat size, you can re-sew one
side seam until it fits properly

Apron Materials List:


16″ ribbon
2– 3″  X 4″  apron
2– 1 1/2″ X  1 1/2″ pocket for apron (optional)

Elf on the Shelf Apron Instructions:


1) Lay right sides together the fabric for the apron
2) Sew around three sides leaving the top open– you can sew the
bottom corners rounded if you’d like
3) Snip corners and turn right sides out and iron
* Repeat with the pocket pieces (the opening will be along the
bottom of the pocket, not the top) and set aside for later
4) Find and mark the center of the apron and the ribbon
5) Overlapping the ribbon halfway onto the apron with the
RIGHT SIDES of the ribbon on the WRONG SIDE of the apron-
Line up the centers and pin to secure
6) Sew just along the bottom of the apron– that’s the part that is
overlapping your ribbon
7) Fold the ribbon over to the RIGHT SIDE of the apron and sew
along the bottom — the top of the ribbon with have the previous
stitching and the raw edge of the apron will be tucked under the
ribbon
8) Fold the un-sewn edge inside and iron
9) Pin in place on the apron and sew around the two sides and
along the bottom, leaving the top open

Materials for the Elf on the Shelf bag:


40– 2 1/2″ X 2 1/2″ for the patchwork area
bottom of bag: 2– 4 ” X 10 1/2″
top of bag: 2– 2″ X 10 1 /2″
2– 1″ X 10 1/2″ ribbon or lace for the pull casing
32″ ribbon for the pull
Lining:
2– 13 1/2″ X 10 1/2″

Patchwork Bag Instructions:


1) Sew the squares together until you have two panels that are 20
squares each– 5 squares by 5 squares
2) Sew the top strip to the top
3) Sew the bottom strip to the bottom–
* IF you’d like a sturdier bag, use a lite weight interfacing. Cut
two pieces the same size as the lining and place on the wrong side
of the patchwork piece– BEFORE you quilt. When you do the
next step, this will secure the interfacing and give more structure
to the bag.
4) Quilt with grid pattern across the patchwork
5) Repeat with second piece
6)  Lay the lace 10 1/2″ piece on the top seam of the bag and sew
the top and the bottom of the lace — the holes in the lace will be
used for lacing the ribbon pull or tie for the bag
7) Lay right sides together and sew the sides and bottom of the
bag- leave the top open
8) Repeat step 6 with the lining

Patchwork Bag Instructions:


9)  Box the corners­ measuring 1 1/2″ from the corner point
10) Mark the measurement and sew on the drawn line. Repeat
with second corner and with the corners of the lining
11) Stuff the lining inside the patchwork bag– right sides facing
12) Sew along the top of the bag
13) Snip a few stitches in the side lining and pull the insides out
14) Stuff the lining inside the patchwork bag and iron
15)  Using a safety pin, lace the 32″ ribbon in the loops of the lace
casing- the ribbon will go in and out the same side. If you’d like
two pulls, cut a second ribbon and start and end on the opposite
side. When you pull the ribbon the top of the bag will cinch.

Tag Materials:
light fabric for stitching­ 6″ X 8″
backing­ 5″ X 7″
Very Special Delivery Tag Instructions:
1) Trace the template onto your light fabric
2) Stitch on the lines and personalize if you’d like with your own
name or names­ trim to 5″ X 7″
3) Lay right sides together the stitched front and the back piece
4)  Sew all the way around the tag leaving a 2″ opening for turning
5) Snip corners and turn right sides out, iron and stitch the opening
closed
