It is a
better term for garbage management. It is the response to the world's problem to stinky garbages.
Reinforcing waste problem been the core institution of detrimental diseases and land absorption, not to
specify to bad upshot to the environment. The system of trashing the municipal waste collection and
recycling just fall on the same rubric. (Enriquez, 2011)
Over the world, there is worsening problem in terms of solutions and actions done for waste disposal
management. To pitch in to the expenditure of solving this problem, this paper will discuss the following: the
uprising concerns and consequences of garbage’s and wastes, how it affects our environment including
human development, the waste management system of developing countries and how they've dealt with
the issues in terms of garbage’s. (Pedroza, 2013)
In technical note, the term In specialized note, the term 'solid waste' is used to include all dry wastes
breeded by human activity and a range of dry waste materials concluding from the disaster, like general
household garbage such as foos waste, dusts and other materials; emergency waste such as plastic bottles
and bundling from other emergency supplies; debris resulting from the disaster. Other specialist wastes, like
medical wastes from the hospitals and poisonous wastes from factories. (World Health Organization, 2011)
The Municipal Council legislated an ordinance establishing waste management also known as "Perkash
Fashura Ordinance Na Isadanga." The ordinance interdict discarding of wastes other than those appreciated
and established garbage facilities; scrapping of dirty and unsegregated waste at the redemption place;
blasting of human excrement along the creeks or rivers. It also demand by tenants to always carry out
segregating of wastes at origin. (Saley, 2012)
From prehistory through this current day, the favorite means of wastes outside the cosmopolis or village
limits. Continually, these despondency are in wetlands, river or lakes. To lesser the volume of garbages, the
despondent is often burned. These manners are being used in secluded or sparsely populated areas in the
earth. (Enger & Smith, 2006)
Waste management become the major problem in the Philippines over the past decades. This article also
talks about the latest and perhaps the most comprehensive solid waste management policy in the country,
the Philippines Republic Act 9003 (RA 9003). It presents the issues on the implementation of these policies,
the status of compliance by the local government, and the recent initiatives and activities to promote proper
waste management and recycling. (Research Gate Website,2003)
Inappropriate solid waste management practices in schools constitute one of the major factors leading to
declining environmental health conditions. The authors' descriptive objective was to assess solid waste
management problems in schools. The lack of bins may have contributed to waste spillages and the burning
practices. This scenarios poses a environmental health difficulty and may compromise school environmental
quality.(Journal of Environmental Health,2011)
-The paper surveys the strong waste administration mindfulness, frame of mind, and practices of the
representatives and understudies of a Catholic advanced education establishment in the Philippines. The
information were gathered utilizing a self-directed review poll and dissected utilizing clear and inferential
measurements. The real discoveries of the investigation demonstrate that the respondents showed an
exceptionally abnormal state of mindfulness and attitude and high degree of routine with regards to strong
waste administration. A huge distinction was found in the mindfulness, disposition, and practices of
respondents when they were gathered by status and religion. Generally, this paper approves how
information impacts frame of mind that accordingly decides conduct especially in strong waste
administration as mediated by proper natural training (Madrigal 2018)
-The topic of environmental protection has attained highest importance in this era globally but the
practices of basic concepts waste disposal are often neglected. People around the globe are aware of the
impact of improper waste disposal practices, but the negative attitude of implementation gives rise to
chaotic situations. The information broke down utilizing understudy t-test appeared, secondary school
understudies are more mindful about family squander the board than the higher optional school
understudies. It is apparent from this examination that there is critical distinction among mindfulness and
practice. Committed environmental education will inculcate a proper and appropriate environmental culture
in the students. As the study revealed awareness of e-waste disposal is lacking there is an urgent need to
rectify this gap in knowledge and practice. (Raghavan 2013)
A similar study was made “Handling, storage, treatment, and disposal of mixed wastes at medical facilities
and academic institutions.”(Hageman JP, 2002), Meeting the legal and regulatory requirements to generate,
use, store, treat, and dispose of mixed waste can also be costly and difficult. The regulations that govern
mixed waste, from creation to final disposition, are extensive and complex to implement. Noncompliance
with the multitude of government's requirements for mixed waste can lead to serious repercussions.
Noncompliance may cause serious harm to individuals and the environment. Each facility that generates,
uses, or possesses mixed waste must employ adequate expertise to assure full regulatory compliance.
A study was similarly made “Solid waste characterization, quantification and management practices in
developing countries. A case study: Nablus district – Palestine”, (Maria M. et al, 2010), Solid waste
management (SWM) is one of the most difficult issues faced by developing countries that suffer from serious
pollution problems caused by large waste quantities. Surveys for household residents' and SWM program
operators, field investigations, on-site waste measurements and characterizations were conducted. Per
capita waste generation rates varied between different localities although trends were similar.
Recyclable waste (plastic, paper and card) weight the waste composition suggesting an incentive to
introduce source separation. SWM operators quoted on the current status, highlighting problems with
disposing in unsanitary landfills, ineffective solid waste fees system, increasing solid waste quantities and
lacking equipment and experienced personnel. To enhance sustainable SWM, public awareness,
funding, expertise, equipment and facilities and other provisions currently lacking or inappropriate must be
provided. (Volume 91, Issue 5, Pages 1131-1138)
This informative book offers specific, practical, and cost-effective solutions to the problems of waste
disposal, from a description of a successful program to conduct a one-time cleanout of secondary schools, to
the identification of chemicals that have no identity. Approaches to waste disposal taken around the
country, including in-house treatment, lab packing, and the benefits of recycling through waste exchange
programs are covered. (Kaufman 1990)
The institutional solid waste management has three institutions. It is noted that there are indeed advantages
in managing solid waste at institutional level because of the institutions’ unique characteristics that also
influence their waste management needs. The three institutions are: University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM),
University College of Lands and Architectural Studies (UCLAS) and Water Resources Institute (WRI). Surveys
and area investigations including on-site waste measurements and questionnaire surveys were done on this
three institutions. (Mbuligwe 2002)
Global warming is caused by our vitriol of the environment. The film-showing exertion in schools will elevate
proper solid waste management. There are occupants who persist to throw wastes anywhere, deterrent
drains and creeks. (Cortes, 2013
