JAZZ BAND BEGINS!!!

If interested, please fill out the form below. These groups


will be held every week unless otherwise announced. ​If
you cannot make it every week, it’s no problem! These
groups are designed to offer additional performance
opportunities for interested students, as well as groups
for a potential tour of elementary schools. ​All practices
are held after school.​ Please arrange transportation
accordingly! The activity bus is an option, please contact
the transportation office for more details.

MONDAYS: ​JAZZ BAND 1 (primarily 7th and 8th grade)​… ​music in the Jazz/Blues/Rock styles will be
performed. This group will be selective based on interest. Drum Set, Piano, Guitar, Electric Bass, Saxophones,
Trumpets and Trombones are needed. Other non “traditional” jazz instruments (ie. Flutes, Clarinets,
Baritones, French Horns) will only be selected to participate if needed. It is suggested that students are at
least at level 4 in their lesson books, although students of any level may participate if needed. ​ ​PRACTICE
RUNS UNTIL 4:30 (THIS GROUP IS BY INVITATION ONLY)

WEDNESDAYS: ​JAZZ BAND 2 (primarily 5th and 6th grade)​…. ​intended for less experienced players and non
“traditional” jazz instruments (ie. Flutes, Clarinets, Baritones, French Horns). Drum Set, Piano, Guitar, Electric
Bass, Saxophones, Trumpets and Trombones are needed, but other instruments may participate as well. This
group is non auditioned, however students that have not at least passed level 2 in their lesson material will be
asked to work on lesson material during rehearsals until they pass that level in their lesson books.

I am interested in participating in the following extra band opportunities:

⃝ Jazz Band 1 (MONDAYS after school until 4:30)

⃝ Jazz Band 2 (WEDNESDAYS after school until 4:30)

Please have transportation arranged. The activity bus is an option, please contact the transportation office
for more details. Activity bus does not leave the school until about 5:15) Students that need to leave early
(appointments, etc.) should bring in a note or have a parent contact Mr. Sensor, this will ensure students do
not leave the school campus without permission.
