a wild card by playing the Loretta add during the Superbowl, such an emotional topic as the
widower remembering his wife can upset or offend the viewers but surprisingly the
commercial got a favorable response from viewers, it became the one add people talked about
after the game was over, and the video on youtube has already more than 12 million views.

brand favorability of any of the Super Bowl ads Unruly. Nearly half (49%) of all viewers
reported a favorable view of the brand, compared to a U.S. average of 37%. What’s more—

see pictures of “Loretta”, from this moment we know that the commercial is using pathos to

old, the audience is shown the first picture in black and white, the photo may look simpler,
the mood of the photo is more intense making it more emotional. The widower then asks
google to play their favorite movie, which shows another task that Google can do, a black and
white movie is shown, the scene Google chooses to play is one of the most sentimental
scenes of this movie, where two people are saying Goodbye. A list of things the man told
google to remind with the dates on the bottom of each thing. A recompilation of videos of
Loretta starts playing, with the background piano soundtrack, their wedding and the life of
Loretta. The list appears again stopping in one specific reminder “Loretta always said, don’t
The ad closes with the man’s voice “remember I’m the luckiest man in the world” ...
