June 10: Week 1
June 10: Week 1
June 10
On our first day, the company consultant and the office clerk introduced themselves to us and
then the Office Clerk introduced us all the other company personnel including the engineers,
architects and foremen, and discussed their positions and what they do.
June 11
The Project Manager discussed the details about the current project. The project
is a facility owned by International Wiring System (IWS) at Luisita Industrial Park. After
the discussion, the project manager toured us in the jobsite.
June 12
We inspected the jobsite ourselves. It was our first time to inspect it without being
accompanied by an engineer.
June 13
Each of us were assigned by the contractor on different stations and monitor them every day.
He also explained what to note when inspecting which are the daily progress of work, efficiency
of the workers and the errors that should be fixed.
June 14
Upon arriving in the site, we started to monitor our designated stations. The contractor is
accommodating a seminar about safety and we are also included in this seminar.
June 15
Today was the continuation of the seminar. After it, we did our assignments. In the afternoon,
there was a general meeting conducted by the project manager. The president, foremen,
architects and IWS officers were all present.
WEEK 5
JULY 10
We visited the jobsite in the morning. We monitored if the workers are properly working. We
also did it in the afternoon.
JULY 11
The contractor asked us to document(punch list) all the errors in the jobsite that needs to be
repaired or fixed. Then we went to the jobsite to list down and take photos of these errors. The contents
of the document are the issue, the photo and a space provided for recommendations. Two of the interns
didn’t finished it.
JULY 12
We edit and continued doing our punch list. It took us about 4 hours to finish it, then officer-in-
charge asked us to modify the AutoCAD drawing of the plan because there were a lot of changes on the
plan.
WEEK 6
JULY 15
We did a normal inspection the whole day. There are workers who don’t wear their shoes
because they got wet. Some of them are slacking when raining.
JULY 16
We stayed in the office and had a discussion with the staffs(the project manager, architect
rabusa and the clerk). They share some tips to us about career and life. And in the afternoon, we did an
inspection to determine if there are improvements on the errors that we documented that are needed
to be fixed or repaired.
WEEK 2
June 17:
I was with my co-interns the whole day. We are asked to make temporary I.D.’s for all of the workers
on the jobsite. I was the one who cut the I.D.'s that were printed by my co-intern.
