UNIVERSITY OF THE PUNJAB, JHELUM CAMPUS.

THE INTERNSHIP REPORT (6 Credit Hrs.)

At the end of 6 to 8 weeks training program, the students are required to submit a comprehensive
Internship Report in hard binding. The Internship Report must comprise of the following
contents. Kindly note, that these instructions are the general guidelines and these may vary from
organization to organization.

Page 3: Name Page

Page 4: Internship Certificate

Page 5: Acknowledgement

Page 6: Executive Summary (2 pages maximum)

Page 7: Table of Contents

Part One

1. Introduction of the organization.

2. History and present status of the organization in business network. Added comparison of the
unit with other units of the same industrials sector and reflect on development pattern
(success/failures).
3. Vision, Mission, Objectives, Aims and Goals
 (Financial Goals, Marketing Goals, HR goals)
 Strategies and tactics to achieving these goals.
Part Two

1. Administrative/Management Styles

 By section Management/Administrative styles/Hierarchy of Management and


Departmental Hierarchy /organizational structure/Chain of Command/Span of
Control/Centralization/De Centralization/ Specialization of the Org
 Impact of different styles on the morale and efficiently of workers.
2. Situational Analysis

 Three C Analysis( Corporate, Customer, Competitor)


 SWOT Analysis
 Portfolio Analysis/BCG
 PEST Analysis
Part Three
Production Facilities operations
1. Brief discussion of production facilities.
2. Critique on various production methods/schedule etc. Discuss any bottlenecks in the
production operation, and suggest solutions.
3. In case of industry, give utilization capacity - full-under, reasons.
Part Four
Company’s Marketing Function
1. Segmentation and Target Marketing Strategies
2. Michael Porter 5 Forces Analysis
3. Marketing Mix
4. Marketing Mix Strategies (Product Strategies, Price Strategies, Distribution Strategies and
other all)
Company HR System
1. Applications of HR functions like training, job performance, appraisal programs, politics like
whistle blowing etc c.
2. HR departmental procedures adopted by organizations.
3. SWOT Analysis of HR Department.
Company Accounting and Finance
1. Analysis of Various Accounting Procedures in the Company
2. Horizontal Analysis + Vertical Analysis of various Financial Statements.
3. Complete ratio Analysis.
Part Five
Conclusion and Recommendation
1. Be specific in suggesting solution of problems.
2. Give realistic and quantitative recommendations.
Note: The above parts are the basic requirement of the report. The students would add more
information etc. in their report depending upon the organization and the job they perform during
the training e.g. survey report, questionnaires, etc.
Part Six (Most important part)
o Daily Activity/Work done by you in the organization (day by day activity)
o Project/assignment completed by you (add annexure).
o Feedback and remarks of your supervisor/ manager of the organization (letter
must attached with report)

4. Hard binding a necessity? Yes
5. Can separators be used? Yes
6. Can Colored Pages & Graphics be used? Yes only where necessary

8. Are appendices going to be included in credit pages? No. appendices are separated.
9. Text on the outer covering of report - What should it specify?
