posterolateral part of the foot should contact the ground

double limb support phase

shock dissipated through movement from knee flexion from 0-15º
shock occurs at subtalar from inversion to eversion
rolling over heel
opposite initial contact
weight transfers over the forefoot (center of mass moves in front of base of support)
toe off of the opposite limb
"apparent" anterior rotation of innominate (difficult to quantify)
calf starts to slow down tibia
only + 5º of dorsiflexion because gastroc-soleus is controlling (limit) movement to come up on ball of foot
femur continues at constant speed to induce knee ext
peak demand of gastroc-soleus complex (b/c COM is so far in front of BOS; even though you are in dorsiflexion instead of plantarflexion)
hip moves to neutral from flexed position
BW moving over the limb (momentum element moving body forward)
lack of sufficient dorsiflexion with compensatory pronation tightens plantar fascia (limits toe extension, results in hallux abductus valgus
rolled over the ankle (maintain forward progression)
seen as spinning and rotation of forefoot)
there is no great demand for stability because center of mass is over ankle
peak demand of ankle flexibility with knee extended

trailing limb posture

unloading stance leg tibia is vertical

hip is starting to flex (actively) - iliopsoas to induce hip flexion hip flexion 15-25º
inducing knee flexion 0-40º by induction of iliopsoas knee is still flexed to 25º (large ROM)
combination of being unweighted and initiating hip flexion and consequently knee flexion angular velocity of tibia must be greater than the femur because it has a large ROM to go through over a smaller period of time
in the closed kinetic chain, the motions are eccentric activities (pretibial, gastroc-soleus)

With this open kinetic chain, it is more concentric motions to initiate momentum (hamstrings control hip extension to reduce to 20º
for terminal swing

toe-off of reference limb

Quadriceps concentrically fire to reduce knee flexion and will eccentrically fire during loading response

knee flexion 40-60º

hip goes from 10º of ext to 15º of flexion relatively rapidly by iliopsoas with knee flexing with additional 20º
short head of biceps fem will help with knee flexion
