Product: Asteknik Aluminum Alloy 6063 - T5 for Extrusions

Project Summary: Architectural Testing, Inc., an Intertek company ("Intertek-ATI"), was

contracted by Asteknik Muhendislik Yapi ve Yalitim Malz. Alum. ve Plastik San. Tic. Ltd. Sti. to
evaluate the tensile properties of their Asteknik Aluminum Alloy 6063 - T5 for Extrusions. The
product description, test procedure, and test results are reported herein.

Test Methods: The test specimens were evaluated in accordance with the following methods.

ASTM B221-14, Standard Specification for Aluminum and Aluminum-Alloy Extruded Bars,
Rods, Wire, Profiles, and Tubes

ASTM B557-15, Standard Test Methods for Tension Testing Wrought and Cast Aluminum-
and Magnesium-Alloy Products

ASTM E8/E8M-16a, Standard Test Methods for Tension Testing of Metallic Materials

Product Description: The Asteknik Aluminum Alloy 6063 - T5 for Extrusions material was
submitted to Intertek-ATI by Asteknik Muhendislik Yapi ve Yalitim Malz. Alum. ve Plastik San. Tic.
Ltd. Sti. and consisted of six sections of aluminum extrusion measuring 2 in. x 16 in. x product
thickness. The material was received on April 17, 2017 and was tested as received with the
exception of machining the smaller test specimens from the pieces.

Test Procedure and Test Results: The testing procedure and results obtained from testing are
reported as follows. All conditioning of test specimens and test conditions were at standard
laboratory conditions unless otherwise reported. Refer to the test related photos in Appendix A.

ASTM B557 / ASTM E8 - Tensile Properties

Six specimens were prepared in accordance with ASTM B557, Section 6.2.1 and ASTM E8, Section
6.3 for standard sheet-type specimens and marked with and initial gage length of 2.00 in. Each
specimen was secured between two clamps on an Instron Universal Test Machine (ICN: 005740)
equipped with a Class C extensometer (ICN: 63959) and loaded at a rate of 0.20 in/min until
failure was achieved. Tensile Strength and Yield Strength were tested and calculated in English
units and converted metric units.

6 28.9 199 22.6 156 13.5
Average 28.8 199 22.4 154 12.8

Conclusion: Per ASTM B221 Table 2, an Alloy 6063 with a T5 temper and a wall thickness up
through 0.5000 in. shall have a minimum tensile strength of 22.0 ksi, a minimum yield strength
at 0.2 offset of 16.0 ksi, and a minimum elongation of 8%. The average results for the Asteknik
Aluminum Alloy 6063 - T5 for Extrusions material meets these requirements.
