DocuSign for SharePoint On Prem

Engagement
Professional Services

To ensure the success of the deployment of the DocuSign for SharePoint On Prem connector, a member of
DocuSign’s Professional Services team will guide the appropriate customer resources through the installation
and configuration process, and assist with the troubleshooting of any issues that may arise during this process.
The engagement will also cover training on the various settings and capabilities found within the connector.
Please note that only SharePoint 2013 and 2016 On Prem are supported

CONNECTOR REQUIREMENTS

➢ The web front end SharePoint servers must be able to make outbound calls to the internet
➢ The Secure Store Service must be configured and running (see this article for information on how to do
this)
➢ If a proxy server is used, you may need to plug the proxy’s URL, username and password (if the proxy
requires authentication) into the connector, and make any necessary network changes to ensure the
proxy is not blocking any calls to DocuSign.
➢ Firewall settings need to be modified to ensure that calls to DocuSign are not blocked. See this link for
list of IPs and domains that should be whitelisted - https://trust.docusign.com/en-us/trust-
certifications/whitelist/
➢ A farm admin must be on the call to login to SharePoint for the install, and this admin should be familiar
with the basics of PowerShell.
➢ A DocuSign admin’s credentials need to be plugged into the connector – this user acts as a “system
sender”. Best practice is to create a generic DocuSign admin/system sender, and use that generic
account’s credentials
➢ After the solution has been installed and configured, a test envelope will be sent to validate the success
of the install. For this, the farm admin should be able to log into SharePoint as a regular user, one who
has a membership on the DocuSign account that the connector is synced with.

OVERVIEW OF THE INSTALL AND CONFIGURATION SESSION

The install/configuration session typically takes 2 hours, and includes the following:

➢ Install connector using a PowerShell script

➢ Configure settings in Central Admin
➢ Check the Secure Store Service to ensure that the DocuSign target application was created
➢ Check timer job definitions to ensure that the DocuSign timer job service was created
➢ Activate connector in a site collection
➢ Activate connector in a doc library
➢ Send and complete an envelope
➢ Check the status record and document library to ensure that records are being created and updated,
and that a copy of the signed documents are automatically brought back into SharePoint
➢ Discuss DocuSign workflow capabilities
