    Invitation to Inter Laboratory Practice on Salt - 2020

    The Salt Industry Center of Japan

    This is to invite you to Inter Laboratory Practice on Salt - 2020.


    We conduct this inter laboratory practice as an analysis value evaluation program (proficiency testing) for
    analyzing main components of salt with the aim of enhancing and improving salt analysis techniques. Both
    domestic and foreign salt manufactures and analytical laboratories have participated in this inter laboratory
    practice, bringing beneficial results in checking analysis accuracy and improving analytical systems.
    In this inter laboratory practice, we evaluate the measurement values of components submitted from each
    participant, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043, and report the evaluation results. Our report represents
    each participating laboratory by a number, and participants can review the evaluation results for their
    measurements.
    Details are described follows.

    Notice

    (1) Samples : Two 500-mL salt water samples, each differing in concentration and containing
    sodium chloride as a major ingredient

    (2) Analysis items : Chloride ion, sulfate ion, calcium, magnesium, potassium, bromide ion

    (3) Participation fee : JPY 15,000 for the first person and JPY 5000 yen after the second person
    [Two persons : JPY20,000 ; three persons : JPY25,000]
    * The money transfer fee must be paid by the participant.

    (4) Schedule : Application to be submitted by : August 20, 2020


    Invoice to be sent in : Late August 2020
    Analysis sample to be sent in : Late September 2020
    Due date for payment : September 30, 2020
    Analysis results to be submitted by : November 10, 2020
    Report to be sent in : Early January 2021

    (5) Miscellaneous : You can partially participate in as well (the participation fee must be paid in
    full).
    No particular analysis method is specified. You may use any desired analysis
    method.
    Please be advised that the results of compiling the analysis values obtained
    through this practice may be publicized as the characteristic values of the
    reference material used for analysis accuracy control.
    (The names of participating organizations and individuals and the analysis
    values will not be disclosed.)
